Ruth Frampton (577 KP) rated Inside Out Egyptian Mummy: Unwrap an Egyptian mummy layer by layer! in Books
Apr 10, 2018
With beautiful illustrations and interesting subject matter, this book is a win-win with curious children. and although it is quite short, it fills a child with wonder and lets them take in what they want before progressing to more challenging reading material. With appropriate technical language used, this book would be good in a school library and would work well for project work as well as curious individuals.
I am reviewing this book for Luann Columbo, Quarto Publishing, and NetGalley who gave me a copy of their book for an honest review.

Rickey A. Mossow Jr. (689 KP) rated A Vigilante (2018) in Movies

Olivia Wilde is brilliant in this raw tale of domestic violence.
Olivia Wilde is brilliant in this raw and unapologetically in your face story of domestic violence. Love how the plot not only progresses but the movie never shies away from the horror that these men, women, and children face on a daily basis. Grips from the opening scene, builds and doesn't let up until the final act. A film that proves you don't need a big budget or a big name studio to produce a quality film with a message.
ArecRain (8 KP) rated All the Lovely Bad Ones in Books
Jan 18, 2018
Everything this woman writes is gold. I am 21 years old and I love her books with a passion even though they are only meant for children. Something about the way she writes just enraptures me to the point that I must finish the book. Her novels are quick reads, but they keep you interested, even with their simplicity. There are no drastic twists in the straight forward plot and it tends to be a bit predictable. But her characters are very real in their actions, thoughts, and reactions to situations.
ArecRain (8 KP) rated In Sleeping Beauty's Bed: Erotic Fairy Tales in Books
Jan 18, 2018
As far as erotica novels go, this novel is one of the worst that I have ever read. Not only was it vague in any erotic descriptions the author decided to give use, but the actually erotica content was almost absent. It was like reading a fairy tale written for adults with all the gore and vulgarity instead the sunshine and smiles, although the happy endings were present.
When I want erotica, I want erotica. If I wanted some fairy tales told for adults instead children, I would read the Grimm's Fairy Tales.

I love this book. I love trains just as much as books. I enjoyed the charthers in the book. It about a family that has to make adjustment on the fly. I quite enjoyable. I love how this is a Classic. I did not know this book was out there to read while I was growing up. The Children name are Bobby, Phil and Paul.
If you want to know mare about it what happens I would suggest picking it up. Something happens that causes their father to go away.

Erika (17788 KP) rated Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) in Movies
Mar 30, 2018 (Updated Mar 30, 2018)
I wanted to like this.. but it was not good. I love big dumb action films, and I loved the 1st Pacific Rim, but Jesus, they can't keep making movies like this. The first Pacific Rim had heart, and it was interesting.
This film was not interesting. It was predictable, and kind of lame. It seemed to definitely be aimed more towards children. All of the best parts of the jaeger fighting were shown in the trailers. I'm so disappointed.
I feel so betrayed. Why TF did they make this movie without GDT?

With beautiful illustrations and interesting subject matter, this book is a win-win with curious children. and although it is quite short, it fills a child with wonder and lets them take in what they want before progressing to more challenging reading material. It’s addictive!
I read books, I like to write about the books I read. Smashbomb is great for people like me - I’m always recommending books to my ‘real life’ friends (both by their request and just because I can’t shut up about some books), and now I can recommend books to complete strangers! What’s not to like!! Oh, and I like how I can ‘dabble! In some of the other things on here (film, apps etc). Quite handy to read up on films to share with my children and for myself too.
Nicole Hadley (380 KP) rated I Am Bat in Books
Jun 18, 2018
I am Bat by Morag Hood is a simple picture book. There are many things children will enjoy about it. The main character, Bat, is grumpy and selfish with his food, but he is adorable. The illustrations are cute and the reader ends up liking this grumpy little bat. The drawings are simple, but are done well. The book touches on fruit, colors, feelings, and hints at friends.
I give this story 4/5 stars.

Erika (17788 KP) rated Yes Please in Books

I'm glad I listened to the audiobook narrated by Amy Poehler, because I don't think I could have gotten through it if I was reading.
I liked some of the stories, but once she started talking about children, I was done. I don't think kids are cute, so cutesy stories about kids are so uninteresting to me. That was definitely when my thoughts started drifting, and I thought to myself, yeah, I'm glad I got the audiobook for free.
Overall, it was ok, but I definitely wouldn't listen to it again.
