"One of my favorite films of recent years is A History of Violence, but I don’t share the notion that we are implicated in its violence. Where is the conflict in seeing psycho killers rubbed out? In Leonard Kastle’s sole film, however, we are painfully implicated. The victims, all defenseless women and a child, are brutally murdered in a context so unreasonably entertaining that we hate ourselves for not turning away. The setup for the most grueling of these murders appears to be an homage to the Turkish-bath scene in Children of Paradise."

"I was not prepared for the journey this compelling novel took me on. Or so I thought. I knew nothing of the lives of Puerto Rican immigrants to the United States, and certainly very little of the lives of the children. This book changed that. It is a book of such power that it is as if a completely new layer of the American experience has been exposed to our view. And like many a great work of fiction, not one line is wasted and every single word rings true."

I had tears in my eyes at the end becase of the adoption thing. That was just too cute! This really got to me for some reason though I do seem to have a really big soft spot for adorable young children in my mm romances.

I didn't realise when i started this that it had some characters from which i also enjoyed. I do believe that Lily Morton may become one of my "have to read" authors as i have really enjoyed all the books I've read by her so far

Huh

don't think I ever really got into this, which surprised me considering I normally like my gay romances with babies in them. Maybe its because she never got a chance to shine like all those other children did.

Never the less, I liked the fact that Nico was different with his ink and hair and that West looked past it all to the person underneath but it still did very little for me in the romance aspect of the story.

I don't think I'll be continuing the series.

Not bad
Dakota Fanning and Guy Pearce syst in this "western". Both give great performances(as do the other actors/actresses. The cinematography is very well done and the story itself plays out well. Normally I don't like when a story "jumps around" in time but this one did it well. Right up to the end. Pearce plays one hell of a villain. This one isn't really for the kids as it involves some violence/sex against children(not graphic). Otherwise, if you like westerns, this one will entertain. Worth a watch!

When Birds Attack
The Birds- is one of my favorite alfred hitchcock films.

The birds- is mysterious, dramatic, horrorfying and overall a great movie.

Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) meets Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor) in a San Francisco pet store and decides to follow him home. She brings with her the gift of two love birds and they strike up a romance. One day birds start attacking children at Mitch's sisters party. A huge assault starts on the town by attacking birds.

The birds is a must see film.
