I was really excited to get this for Christmas Eve. I loved This Is Going To Hurt and couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. It is filled with much of the same anecdotes and a few that make you chuckle and some that are just heartbreaking. But in all, as much as I did enjoy it, I didn't enjoy it as much as the first.

Don't forget on Tuesday I will be showing the christmas film 'DIE HARD' at 'RETROIDS ARCADE BAR'.

Film starts at 7:30pm.

ENTRY IS £6 WHICH GETS YOU A FREE SOFT DRINK AND A GAME TOKEN.

Now I can't promise mulled wine a nice aged brie or a roaring fireplace but if come out the arcade, we'll get together, have a few laughs that's for sure.

Ho Ho Ho Motherfuckers!

Mediocre as Hallmark Christmas movies go. No real chemistry between the main couple nor urgency to the plot. I did enjoy the fact that there was just one couple (estranged) so no side villains to keep an eye on. It was definitely going for a Chip & Joanna "Fixer Upper" vibe with their main cast, who started their own company. Held my attention while working, but wasn't anything special.

I read the second installment to this series a lot faster than I read the first one. Although there seemed to be less happening in this book, it was nice to see the character development, and to meet entirely new characters.
I still love the relationship between Ethan and Lena, and cant wait to see what happens in the third book. Hopefully I can add it to my christmas wishlist.

In this collection, Rachel Joyce connects seven short stories that span from just before Christmas Eve through New Year's Eve. What is most interesting is that Joyce not only arranges these tales chronologically, she also links them with other elements. You can read my review of this book (that I'm giving 4.5 stars out of 5) here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2017/04/15/the-eves-of-winter-stories/
