A prophet has arrived in the small mountain town of Red Tree, California, bringing with him a revival. Repenting of sins. Healings. Exorcisms. Speaking in tongues. Visions. Prophecies.

Something big is happening in Red Tree, something so transformative the small town can barely contain it. And Iron King's mother is the Prophet's most committed follower, even though Iron's father isn't totally on board.

Any doubts the townspeople have that the Prophet was anointed by God evaporate when a man who questions his integrity is struck by lightning on the church steps. Unreproachable, the Prophet's stature—and his control over the souls in his care —grows along with the size of his church, despite whispered rumors and his increasingly strange prophecies.

Until Iron falls in love with a girl and realizes that between God and Satan, between truth and deception, lies a great contradiction. And a horrific terror.

This was so so good I didn’t want to put it down. An interesting story of faith, life and false prophets. I was completely hooked from start to finish. Definitely be reading more from this author.

The Black Dahlia Murder have always been at the forefront of American melodeath. Their lyrics are dark and horrifying, albeit poetic, their pace is crushing and their songs are oddly catchy. This new album has been a step forward since their relatively safer ventures in Ritual and Everblack, turning to a choral bent with some new themes to explore. Their track "Nightbringers" is a remarkably violent foray into the mind of a vampire who hates the church and the lyrics are as always violent and sometimes vile. Other standout tracks include "Matriarch," "Widowmaker" and "Catacomb Hecatomb."

Cheesy to the very end but immensely successful and spawning a sequel, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again this very summer. 2008’s Mamma Mia was one of the most profitable musicals of all time with an all-star cast including Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan. With the entire wedding-themed movie set on an idyllic Greek island, it was inevitable that the ceremony itself would be absolutely stunning. It was, with a church perched high on a hill and a lovely reception in which Amanda Seyfriend’s Sophie could relish in the love of her friends, mum and (spoiler alert), her three dads.

Camellia is a beautiful model whose life is not her own. She does everything that her parent’s want including paying all of their bills. At a photo shoot, she meets a handsome pastor and an abused homeless teenager. Through them, Camellia finds a purpose in life and a backbone to finally do what makes her happy.

Camellia develops through faith, prayer, and the support of other women to have a deeper relationship with God and to finally find happiness. This book is filled with hope, a little romance, a little mystery, and a greater understanding of church and faith.
