Fantastic plot from start to finish, gives you the sense of genuine fear which has really leaked in both cinema and TV in recent times. The twists and turns are up there with some of the best ever. (0 more)

"When I first came to Los Angeles I became addicted to Japanese cinema at the Toho La Brea Theater. Criterion has reissued many of Kurosawa greatest films, and my list could easily have consisted solely of his titles."

I'll show you how deep the Rabbit hole goes
I saw this in the cinema and was blown away. The Sfx from the Cgi, green screen and other techniques used raised the bar by a mile. Add to that the outfits, fight scenes and use of Asian cinema wire rigs, the camera angles, cinematography, the Music and a brilliant story. Make this one very cool slick film and treated us to something totally new. Currently my favourite of all time!

So tonight after months of being excited for it, I'm heading down to London today to go to Secret Cinema presents Stranger Things.

For those of you that don't know, Secret Cinema is an immersive experience designed to throw you into the world. You're meant to dress up (Stranger Things dress code is 80s, I'm going as a punk), and spend hours exploring the world of Hawkins and the Upside Down. I'm SO excited, and cannot wait to try a Scoops Ahoy!

I'll post a review and update tomorrow 😊

"I’d have to have a John Ford movie; there are four or five movies of his that are tied in my book. He added a secular audience involvement in what was the beauty of cinema. In other words, he was the first guy that I think made movies live up to the potential of what they could be, and continued to do so throughout his career. He was able to be, to me, the most profoundly humanistic bridge between the potential of cinema and how it relates to the human condition."

"I saw this just recently—proof that you can still make huge discoveries and feel like a young cinephile again at fifty. This amazing film can be filed under “cinema as a beautiful, frightening hallucination,” and it includes a rare collection of anamorphically shot images of action and movement. This is also one of those special films that are hard to assign easy descriptions. One year later, 2001: A Space Odyssey came out. Very different movies, but similar in how unusual and thrilling their ideas of cinema are."

Tickled me.
Very funny and touching. Really well done, being sensitive to the subject matter. I ached from laughing but still had years in my eyes when I left the cinema. Wahlberg at his best.
