Another movie with Bruce Willis that doesn't just cut it, as it was today's premiere on Sky Cinema I thought I'd check it out, no idea how it got the 4 stars it showed as having via Rotten Tomatoes, I think someone at Sky was having a laugh with the the ratings!

Watched this week on Disney plus don’t understand why this movie didn’t get much love at the cinema it wasn’t that bad a movie the animation is good good voice acting the visuals are good but the plot can drag sometimes which spoils it for me but the movie is okay for the family

I have to say that I wasn't too sure about this when I found it was being made, but I watched it on Sky Cinema last night and I still prefer the original version from the 40s. The new version just didn't seem to have the same comedic timing and comedy. Shame really.

Daniel Boyd (1066 KP) created a post

Not sure how it would be implemented, but something I would love to see on this website would be the opportunity to review events.
Whether that is seeing a mind-blowing live gig or going to the midnight showing of Avengers at your local cinema, it would be really cool to be able to write about these experiences in review form.

Failing that, it would be nice to be able to review venues. That way you could talk about the acts etc that you have seen in a certain place. I know that the chance to review places has been a rumoured addition for a while now, and I guess music venues and cinema etc would fall under that umbrella.

I would definitely agree with this. I go to a fair few theatre shows and gigs and it'd be great to be able to review these on here.

Hunt this down
Available now on Sky Cinema I just missed this at the cinema when lockdown happened. From the Producers of @The Purge (2013) it has a similar premise to that and @Hard Target (1993)
A bunch of strangers wake up who knows where and soon realise they are being hunted. Some have heard of "Manorgate" an online rumour of a large estate where people are hunted and killed because of their political opinions.
It's very tongue in cheek, darkly comic humour but with plenty of blood splatter. Some of the jokes are hit and miss, but overall it was a fun over the top film for the short run time.

Ali Abbasi recommended Mulholland Drive (2001) in Movies (curated)

"I was completely unprepared when I saw Mulholland Dr. in a small art-house cinema in Stockholm, and it blew my mind. I came out of the movie and just felt like I needed to talk to people and ask questions, like, did you see what I saw? It was huge for me, and it almost felt like, you can’t mess with people like this and get away with it, somebody should do something about it. Usually when American cinema tries to be surreal or nonlinear or non-narrative, it turns either really pretentious or really Hollywood. But David Lynch, in this film but also in general, is probably the only person I know who has succeeded in making his own version of American surrealism."
