Ross Lynch stars as Kyle Moore, a teenager who after being uprooted by his parents' separation and unable to fit into his new hometown, stumbles upon a magical app that causes his social media updates to come true.

My mum asked me what I'd seen this month and so we went through the list with a brief description of the ones she hadn't heard of. When I got to this one... "It's so much fun, you'd hate it, dad would love it." Mum will watch a lot of things, but daft humour isn't really one of them. Dad and I are all over them though.

I would totally abuse an app that made my status updates come true... of course I'd want to check that it didn't apply things retroactively, and that I could dial my sarcasm back a lot to protect myself from worse self afflicted issues than happen in the film.

It's a fun diversion, a feel good film that has clearly been trying to tick all the boxes on what makes people go to the cinema... bit of wacky mystery, some singing and dancing, a bitchy gay... it's got all the things we love.

Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

The perfect sequel
Just like it's predecessor, The Empire Strikes Back is a hugely important sci-fi classic. The first two Star Wars films changed the face of cinema forever!

Everything that makes A New Hope so enjoyable is present and correct in TESB, but bigger and better in everyway.
All of the main characters are charming - it's easy to see why they have such a cult following.
The second time around, were given much more back story to already established characters (including the infamous mother of all twists), and we're introduced to new characters, such as Lando, Yoda, and Boba Fett, who all quickly became fan favourites.

We're also introduced to new locations, showing off gorgeous cinematography at every opportunity - places like Bespin, and Hoth (where one of my favourite set pieces of the whole saga takes place).
John Williams score is once again flawless, easily one of the best movie scores of all time.

The movie also ends on a huge cliffhanger, and no matter how many times I see TESB, I'm always ready to move on to the next chapter immediately.
It's a timeless classic.

Saw II (2005)
Saw II (2005)
2005 | Horror, Mystery
The best of the Saw sequels and the only one I went to the cinema to see.
The original Saw is fantastic and the twist you dont see coming ending is one of, if not the best I have ever seen.
Saw 2 is nearly as good. The main house trap is a stroke of genius and the solo traps for each of the victims are so well planned and just look so devilious.
Darren Lynn Bousman directs (as he will the new Saw reboot involving Chris Rock) as Tobin Bell, with that amazing voice, retruns to play John Krammer/Jigsaw and he is hunted down by Mark Whalbergs detective Eric Matthews.
This leads to a tense standoff in Jigsaws lair as Matthews discovers his son, Daniel is one of the participants in the house trap. A house slowly filling with nerve gas.
Also returning is Shawnee Smith as Amanda who is also playing the game again in the house.
As the film twists towards its shocking ending you realise all you have to do is follow the rules to win the game.

Game Over

Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993)
Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993)

Probably the best Robin Hood film?
Let's be honest, Robin Hood has been done on screen more times than we can count & potentially aside from the animated Disney film, it's probably safe to say Men in Tights is by far the best Robin Hood film out there.

They don't make films like this anymore. It looks terrible, and well that's the point. You really can't beat a good spoof/parody. Cary Elwes makes a wonderful Robin Hood (with a English accent as the film so rightly points out) and the rest of the cast too camp it up to the max. Admittedly this film hasn't aged particularly well and some of the humour isn't quite as funny as I remember, but you can't go wrong with a Mel Brooks film. Man is a genius and the fact that he also appears as Rabbi Tuckman is a brilliant move. Also the Men in Tights song is absolutely hilarious.

It really is a shame they dont make films like this anymore as they'd make the world of cinema a brighter and happier place. Need more writers like Mel Brooks that's for sure!

Not a bad film
I enjoy a gay romantic film from time to time. Although this one wasn't all new experience and happy endings it's quite a sad one but I still enjoyed it.

Good film about a young man (Jonas) that becomes good friends with a new guy at school (Nathan) they share a few kisses and a small romance starts. The film jumps from the main character as a 15 year old boy to an adult showing both parts of his life and how he wasn't on the best path and it explains why as the film goes on. These two young boys head off for a date night at the cinema Jonas is the innocent one and wants to go home after but Nathan the adventurous one wants to try and sneak into a gay bar unable to get in they take an offer from a man to take them to another bar, one thing leads to another and Jonas is left deserted and Nathan gone. Good film for a late night watch and if you don't mind reading subtitles.

'Remember Me'
Bit slow starting (0 more)
One of the few Pixar movies that I (somehow) managed to miss this when it came out at the cinema, only catching it recently on Disney+.

And, like most of Pixar output's, this is technically and visually stunning, with a sub-plot about the importance of family tied into the main narrative.

(Coco, it turns out pretty early on, is the name of his great-grandmother.)

That narrative concerns 12 year old Miguel, who dreams of becoming a famous musician despite his family's ban on any kind of music whatsoever following a decision made by one of his ancestors to leave his family to go touring (and never came back). Set during the Mexican tradition of The Day of the Dead, Miguel finds himself transported to the land of the dead following circumstances (which I'm not going to go into here), and sets off on a quest to find his ancestors and get their blessing so he can return home.

Dante the dog steals the show.

'Remember Me' deserves to become as well known as 'Let It Go'.

I love it
So me my sister and fiancé have been watching alot of films, I have seen this one a few times on Netflix and ordered it the other day, it finally came through and we all sat down to watch, my sister and fiancé said how shit they thought it was, me on the other hand loved it, everyone knows I love a budget comedy horror.

Sad opening when a mother is put down because she stared in a cheesy 80s slasher, now older and wiser she has a daughter max, you see there bond and relationship very fast and you see how it was taken away in one quick car crash, on the anniversary of Max's mums death she goes to the cinema to watch the film her mother was in, a fire breaks out and in a swift exit behind the screen a handful end up within the film. It's a comical fight to live and it pulls on plenty of heart strings as max is reunited with her late mother. I personally thought it was a brilliant cheesy, funny film and definitely worth the watch!!!
