this is a quick read that will keep you gripped till the last page. the chemistry between the characters is hot and steamy. this book has plenty of hot team scenes to keep you reading. this is a good quick story with lots of twists and turns. the characters are fab and even the secondary characters play important roles within the story. the story is fast paced but very well written. this has a cliffhanger ending, I'm glad i have part two to start straight away.

fantastic short read
This is the first book in this set but the sixth book in this series. This is a mafia story. This is a quick, hot and steamy, easy to read book which you will read in one sitting. This book has a cliffhanger ending so be warned, you will need part two as soon as you've finished this book. Amazing well written characters. I can't wait to read part two in this set.

Great characters (1 more)
Relatable story
Awesome
I was given this book for free by my request but the opinion is of my own. This book literally grabs you literally from the beginning and doesn’t let go. Marley is trying to start anew in college after dealing with bullying because of her seeing things no one else could. Suddenly she is pushed to see that just perhaps what was considered a mental illness is more real than given. Does end in a cliffhanger and I’m definitely wanting to read the rest.

Back for a 3rd series after another cliffhanger ending to the second series. This 3rd outing feels a little different. It's not quite as funny overall as the other series, not quite as witty. Still with some funny scenes but not quite as dramatic as the first 2 series. The overall plot doesn't have the same feel either. However it's still an entertaining series with plenty to enjoy. Just not quite hitting the highs of the first 2 series.

Leah (: (569 KP) rated The Society (Spy Girl book 3) in Books

The mystery and intrigue continues. With very new piece of information we learn it seems as though one question is answered and at least two more appear.
Huntley continues to save the world in style whilst trying to decipher her past. All of this is made more challenging by not knowing who to trust.
As a reader we are just as baffled as Huntley about her past, despite the very small snippets from an unknown narrator.
The book ends on a pretty massive cliffhanger, so be prepared, although you’re lucky, you won’t have to wait for the next book to be released.

Dani/Jada's story made three of these stars happen alone. Her story just tugged so much at my heart, and I need to hear more of this. The other star is for Lor and Jo. I really enjoy their few chapters! Mac and Barrons are becoming very repetitive. I loved them in the first 5 books, but now, I just feel like Mac repeats herself over and over and rambles about the same things over and over. But, overall, I feel this book is about to lead up to something big in the next one! Or maybe it was just that cliffhanger.

Fascinating storyline

Chinese Mysticism
Contains spoilers, click to show
A tale of Chinese mysticism, set in the river city of Tientsin in early 20th Century China, with a mystic, a forensic scientist, a reporter and a spiritually talented investigator getting together to solve a string of incidents that all build to a final conclusion.
Very well acted, with fabulous locations and gorgeously replicated period clothing and props.
A fantastic storyline that starts out as individual incidents that don't necessarily seem to be connected, but that build to a thrilling cliffhanger finale.
Altogether a great watch.

David McK (3248 KP) rated The Gods of Mars (Barsoom #2) in Books
Jan 28, 2019
The sequel to A Princess of Mars, The Gods of Mars again is presented as Edgar Rice Burroughs retelling the story of a relation of his. Again, this novel starts on Earth before moving to Mars proper and fleshing out the world first shown in the earlier book.
It is also, quite clearly, a product of it's time both in it's vision of Barsoom (or Mars), and in the culture of the various races upon (and underneath) the planet, and also ends - rather abruptly, I felt - in a cliffhanger of an ending.

Calling all passengers for flight 828
A decent follow up series carrying on from the cliffhanger ending of the first. It's all very much the same as the first but with a new threat and more info revealed about flight 828. Though one major plot line also goes missing for about 5 episodes which was odd. Sadly it does start to drag a bit near the middle episodes before a stronger finish to the series. There will be a 3rd series but I'm not sure I'm going to check it out.
