Generally speaking when I get a craft book, I like 99% of the patterns. There are always a few that I’m not big on, or just not impressed by. But this book is different: I love every single pattern, and want to make them all in a bunch of different colors. Like I’m not even joking. And I even got my boyfriend to look through all the pictures too and he was like “oooh you should make that. Ooh that would be so pretty on you. Oooh look at that one.” It was kind of adorable.

There were a few things that made me really love this book. Yes the patterns themselves were lovely, but one of the things about them was the hook size wasn’t microscopic. When I go online and search for “Crochet lace,” a lot of times the patterns I find are very tight-gauge. Fingering weight yarn, tiny hooks, itty bitty details, slow progress. These patterns were mostly G, H, and I hooks, so they will work up pretty quickly.

Another thing I really liked was the French names and theme running through the book. All the patterns were elegant, light, delicate, and sweet. Some of them were gorgeous and sexy in addition! Even the layout of the patterns themselves was elegant.

Lastly there was both graphs for the lace, and the written instructions, for both kinds of people. I can’t just follow a pattern, and I can’t just look at a graph. But with both, I’m good.

I’m super excited about this book. Check back with me in a few weeks to see what I’ve made!

First, I just have to say how gorgeous this cover is! If I hadn't been intrigued by the synopsis, I would have grabbed it up for the cover alone. Second, if you are not already a fan of Angela Hunt, then you will be after reading this amazingly chiseled novel. She is absolutely talented and truly captured my soul with this new novel. This is Biblical fiction at it's finest!

I am a lover of Historical fiction and this book fits the bill for best of 2017 so far! Reading about Cleopatra and Chava really moved me. I've heard of Cleopatra, of course, but never really read a book that centered around her time. So, getting to know Chava, the young woman waiting to take her place at the Queen's side and Cleopatra, and all that was Alexandra, was truly an event I don't want to forget. The detail that Ms. Hunt adds to this novel is breath taking and I won't soon forget the feel of being in the heart of the story.

If you want a novel that will whisk you away to a time in history that isn't often written about, then I suggest this book with high flying colors! If you want to be captivated and become the characters, then this 5 star novel is highly worth getting! This book kept me turning the pages long into the night and I am already anxiously awaiting another book by this author who knows just what her fans love! <a href="http://cafinatedreads.com/review-eygpts-sister-by-angela-hunt/"; target="_blank">This review was originally posted on Cafinated Reads</a>

Surprisingly Great
I feel like I'm fairly "In the Know" when it comes to films. I make it my business to know all the upcoming films, but this one definitely snuck under my radar even all these years later. A solid film for the entire family, I only wish I had caught this one sooner. It's the story of penguin Cody Maverick (Shia LaBeouf)and his journey to win top surfer at the World Surfing Championship in Hawaii.

Acting: 10
Great cast of voice actors led by LaBeouf. The voices breathe life into each character giving them their own flair. Jeff Bridges seems to always find a way to be the shining moment in almost every film he's in.

Beginning: 10

Characters: 10

Cinematography/Visuals: 10
Some of the best animation I have seen in film, hands down. The colors are bright and vivid, teeming with life. Where the visuals really shine are during the surfing scenes. There appears to be so much care that went into the water and wave animation and it pays off on screen. I can't wait to watch this film on a 4K television.

Conflict: 10

Genre: 8

Memorability: 6

Pace: 8

Plot: 10
If a penguin surfing isn't original enough for you, the story as a whole is enough to keep you entertained. Has there ever been an animated film about surfing period, let alone surfing animals? Not sure, but this film captured its essence well while respecting the sport.

Resolution: 10

Overall: 92
With a hilarious opener, classic characters, and Joe the Chicken (trust me, you'll love him), this film is a home run. Great movie for a family night.

osephine Is Forced to Spy for Grave Robbers

Step into True Colors—a new series of Historical Stories of Romance and American Crime

In Massachusetts in 1824, Josephine Clayton awakes on the table of the doctor she’s assisted all these months. She was presumed dead by all and has become the doctor’s next corpse for his medical research. Frightened, the doctor tries to kill her, but Josephine begs to be spared. A deal is struck—Josie will leave her village and work at a distant cotton mill. All the while, she’ll await her true mission—posing as a mourner to help his body snatcher procure her replacement. At the mill though, Josie is praised for her medical remedies among the mill girls, gaining attention from the handsome factory manager Braham Taylor. Yet, when Braham’s own loved one becomes the prey for the next grave robbing, Josie must make a choice that could put her dark past behind her or steal away the promise of any future at all. What price will Josie pay for love when her secrets begin to unravel

My Thoughts: This is a very unique mystery that will captivate readers from the beginning. A fictional novel based on true facts, this story gives the reader an insight to the horrific things that happened at the turn of the century.

This story will certainly keep the readers' attention. The author has created very believable characters. The readers will either like them or hate them.

This is a wonderful story for those who like a good mystery. This one has many twists in the plot to keep the readers on their toes.
