"This is one idea, repeated, done in a simple palette of colour. So many records that I like are like that. I love putting it on in the background. It's like a tumbleweed in slow motion. It's stoic and sad. The rhythm of it is so beautiful. I loved the film when I was younger, too. It reminds me of weekend afternoons when I was a kid watching Westerns on TV, things like High Noon and The Searchers. [laughs] Remember that feeling? And that plangent Spanish guitar… this album feels intimate and epic all at the same time.

"When you’ve got a favourite artist, you want to know everything about them, from their favourite colour to what they have for breakfast, and you get that with this Nick Cave documentary. It’s clear how every detail has been carefully and thoughtfully curated by him. I love the glimpse into the friendship between him and Warren Ellis when they’re discussing the time they met Nina Simone, and she said what she wanted to have after her gig: “I want champagne, cocaine and sausages!” They look like little boys when telling the story. It’s a beautiful insight into their world outside of music-making"

This has a runtime of only 12 minutes (including credits) but that was all it took for it to have an absolutely devastating emotional impact.

The animation is a simplistic style but this was all to its credit, as in each scene your eye was drawn specifically to the important details.
It made it feel so raw, and full of the emotions it was trying to illicit.

I wouldn't like to say too much, as I wouldn't want to colour any details of this powerful piece.
I hope that viewers will enjoy it for the beautiful work that it is.

Creature feature from the year 2000, starring a then up-and-coming Vin Diesel as the anti-hero Riddick, one of the survivors (that includes Farscape's Claudia Black!) of a crashed spaceship on a planet that has a unique day/night cycle: no nights, except for an eclipse once every 22 years. Which is when the rather nasty nocturnal creatures come out...

Much better than the direct sequel (there's a reason the third film in the mid 2010s went back to this version of the character), with an interesting colour palette and even a nice character arc for Riddick!
