Fun whodunit?
A fun quirky Whodunit? with a big cast and dash of humour, along with some red herrings. Make this an enjoyable film for those who like a murder mystery.
It was a little light on the humour side overall, so not as much of a comedy as I thought it would be. As for the Whodunit side of things the family members all have their motives but from quite early on there isn't a great deal of mystery in the plot. It finishes strongly thankfully with a typical drawing room summing up.
Overall a fun film for fans of the genre without really testing the grey cells of many sleuth viewers.

Awix (3310 KP) rated The Personal History of David Copperfield (2019) in Movies

Armando Ianucci's adaptation of Charles Dickens' semi-autobiographical novel strikes an interesting balance between being the movie you expect and something new and unusual. Somewhat rambling plot: David Copperfield is born, grows up, goes from rags to riches and back again, meets various colourful characters, and so on. Obviously an opportunity for some actors to turn in rather big comedy performances, and the cast duly oblige.
However, the film is also quite studied in its non-naturalism - it doesn't even pretend to be realistic (this obviously extends to many of the casting choices), and in this context the experiment just about succeeds. However, it doesn't feel affected, and the film retains a warmth and sincerity that make it a real pleasure to watch.

Sherlock Mouse Holmes
The Great Mouse Detective- is a really underrated animation film made by disney that was released in the late 80's. Plus you have Vincent Price as the villian. I love Vincent Price he is such a excelllent actor.
The Plot: Basil embarks on the greatest case of his career when London's master toymaker is kidnapped. He ends up pitting his wits against his old adversary, Professor Ratigan, who wants to become `supreme ruler of all mousedom'.
The Great Mouse Detective- mixes "Sherlock Holmes", "The Rescuers" and "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" togther into one film. You have mystery, comedy, adventure, action and music.
Its a very underrated film, that i highly recordmend.

I really loved this movie. It is the perfect coming-of-age romantic comedy. The cast was great - Jane Lynch, Alexa PenaVega, Evan Peters, Sean Faris, Steve Carell. It was a great cast. It didn't feel like the girls were trying too hard or the boys, for that matter. I think that the culture in adolescents and teens has changed so much since 2004, with social media, iPhones, and the pressure that feels way heavier than it was then. I think this is the movie to watch when you just want to watch kids being kids if that makes sense.
Overall, I really liked this film. I definitely think I'll be coming back to it and I definitely recommend it.

Coming of age teen comedy
Brilliant program with a but of something for everyone! Easily relatable.
From the mind of Mindy Kaling, the show takes us into the crazy yet completely relatable world of Asian-American teenager Devi Vishwakumar.
She’s had some major downs in the past year and is determined to turn it all around as she focuses on becoming cool, getting a boyfriend and just living her best life.
That’s all easier said than done, of course. And watching her attempts in the hilarious 10- episode series is an absolute hoot.
But if you need a bit more convincing then we’re more than happy to explain all the reasons why this is the best Netflix show you’re not watching right now

The East Side Kids Meet Dracula
Spooks Run Wild- is a funny entertaining horror movie starting the East Side Kids and of course Bela Lugosi as the creepy man/villian.
The plot: The East Side Kids are sent to summer camp, and shortly after arriving they encounter a mysterious man named Nardo (Bela Lugosi). Naturally, the Kids assume Nardo is the "monster killer" they've been warned about. Their theory is strengthened when they see Peewee (David Gorcey), seemingly risen from the dead after getting shot, walking around Nardo's house in a zombie-like trance. The Kids take it upon themselves to capture Nardo before he can kill anyone else.
Like i said its funny entertaining and over a good black and white comedy horror film.

I can not state enough that you must harbor expectations for films appropriately. If you go to see a comedy with Rebel Wilson in it, there should be a certain type of film you should expect. This movie fulfills that expectation.
Anne Hathaway performs well in a humorous role for her while feeding off of the hilarious Wilson. The name of the game is Con and the mission is bigger is better.
I don't want to give too much away as there are a few turns (believe it or not) that might catch you off guard. Give it a go if you're looking for a giggle or even if you want to have a movie going in the background while you're doing something else.

Wonderful, Light hearted, in-depth
When you think of Richard Briers, if like me you were born in the early seventies, then you will always associate him with The Good Life and Ever Decreasing Circles. Reading this book i found out that he was so much more than just situation comedy actor. From his early childhood days selling cigarettes and comics to appearing in films with such legendary actors as Robert De Niro and Denzel Washington this book covers it all. It also tells the background story of his family life, which opens him up to be a more complex character than you can imagine. A fantastic read and definitely up there with the best i have read :)
