If you saw this trailer, and were expect8ng an numerous tale of Maggie Smith playing an obstanant and witty old lady... you are going to be disappointed.
While there is some humour in this film, mostly dark and subtle (Not that that is an issue) it is not as hysterical as the trailer makes out. This is one of those very annoying cases where the genre and themes of the film, we're lost on whoever cut the trailer.
Said trailer is jammed full of every joke in the film, leaving you to think, "oka y, this looks fun, this will cheer me up". Sadly, the overall feel of the film is more drama than comedy.
That said, it is a very good film, well worth a watch, with the usual perfect performance from Maggie, but do not expect to be cheered up by this film, as it is quite sad.
I liked the film, however I was disappointed as I wanted something light and witty, this brought me down man.

Yippee ki yay! Christmas
Die Hard- i love this movie, such a excellent classic phenomenal christmas film. With action, suspense, thrills, comedy, vents, Bruce Willis as John McClane and of course you cant forgot Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber.

The Plot: New York City policeman John McClane (Bruce Willis) is visiting his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) and two daughters on Christmas Eve. He joins her at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-owned business she works for. But the festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there's no one to save the hostages -- but him.

This movie started the Die Hard Franchise, which I like this one, the third one and the fourth one. I have to rewatch the second one to see if i like it or not. The fifth one nope.

Anways this movie is a classic and overall a christmas classic movie for the whole family to watch.

One more thing- Yippee Ki Kay!!!

The Terror Train
This movie is actually good, its scary, horrorfying, terrorfying, has comedy, is thrilling, and of course Jamie Lee Curtis is in it, the scream queen of all scream queens.

The Plot: During a hazing, a fraternity of pre-med students has a particularly sinister prank in store for one their more timid pledges (Derek MacKinnon). With the help of a coed, Alana Maxwell (Jamie Lee Curtis), they pull off the prank so well that the pledge needs to be institutionalized as a result. After several years pass and people forget the incident, those involved with the prank are ready to celebrate their graduation by having a costume party on a train, but they haven't escaped their past yet.

It also takes place on New Years Eve, so its a horror movie that takes place on holiday. A horror movie that is surrounding around a holiday. Its also director by Roger Spottiswoode. He directed "Under Fire", "The Best of Times", "Turner & Hooch", "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot", "Tomorrow Never Dies" and "The 6th Day".

A good horror movie to watch.

When Harry Met Sally (1989)
When Harry Met Sally (1989)
1989 | Comedy, Drama, Romance
I thought this movie was cute. I definitely understand why it's a classic romantic comedy and why it's one that has transcended decades to make some of the all-time best rom-com movies lists out there. I like the progression of the plot, it feels the most real of rom-coms I've seen over the years. The timeline is something like 12 and a half years of friendship and ups and downs and realizing whether or not you've met the person you want to be with for the rest of your life.

My favorite part is when Sally is crying and she says, "I'm gonna be 40!" and Harry says, "When?" Sally replies, "Someday!" Harry says, "In 8 years!" and finally Sally says, "It's out there!" I don't know why that cracked me up so much but it did and I loved it. I'm sure I'll end up watching this film at some point. Maybe it'll make my list of movies to show my kids one day. It's not my favorite but it's definitely a good watch.

Finding Nemo (2003)
Finding Nemo (2003)
2003 | Animation, Comedy, Family
There's honestly nothing to not like about Finding Nemo - it's Pixar during its finest hour, and just shy of 20 years old, it's still looks great and is just as entertaining as it was back in 2003.

The ocean is the perfect setting for a kids film. It such a huge, largely unexplored place, full of mystery and wonder. Finding Nemo takes advantage of the vast display of aquatic colours and gives us a film that looks distinctive and vibrant.
The plot is definitely taken out of the Pixar guide book - not a bad thing of course. The opening minutes are suitably tragic, and serves as a reminder that Pixar can deliver a gut lunch when they want to, and this was still a few years before Up ripped out my heart.
The adventure that follows includes fun and action packed set pieces, plenty of comedy, and an array of memorable characters, backed up by a faultless voice cast.

Finding Nemo almost immediately earned its place amongst Disney-Pixar royalty, and it still clearly belongs there to this day.

A little dull
When you think Nick Hornby, you usually think a funny, witty romantic comedy similar to his bigger hits like High Fidelity and About a Boy. Unfortunately Juliet, Naked doesn’t quiet meet up these rather high standards.

It’s well written which you’d definitely hope for from Nick Hornby, however it’s usually dull and rather long winded. The characters often go off into these dreary and long internal monologues that make this a bit of a slog. Annie and Tucker are fairly likeable characters but yet neither of them really stand out or make for a highly intriguing story. The plot itself while it sounds interesting, doesn’t actually play out as entertaining and fun as you’d think and the characters don’t really help much. The film has changed nearly everything in this book, especially the main events, and for once I don’t mind. The film has actually made this story a lot more entertaining for the most part, and those of you who know me on here know I won’t often admit that a film is better than the original book!

An instant classic
Hot Fuzz is a glorious film, plain and simple.

It's funny, it's crude, it's gory, it's just plain ridiculous at times, and it's very British...
Anyone who lives here in England can confirm - this country is full of little villages and towns where something just seems a bit...off. just like the films village, Sandford.
As Sgt. Angel starts to uncover a sinister conspiracy underneath the idyllic town, Hot Fuzz effortlessly weaves quick humour, with a creeping sense of dread, just like it's predecessor, Shaun of the Dead.

The fantastic trio of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and director Edgar Wright hit all the right comedic notes once again, and the film is riddled with famous faces from the British comedy scene.
It evens features once-James-Bond Timothy Dalton, just being generally awesome and villainous.

The climatic battle, (that likes fun at the silliness of the action genre) is good fun, but it doesn't quite hit the mark that Shaun of the Dead does.

It's still a great film though, I'd implore anyone to give it a go.

Ants!!!!!
Ant-Man and The Wasp- was a really great movie. It had action, comedy, ants, ants and more ants. I heard that some people thought that this movie was pointless and just a lead up to endgame, that this movie should of came out before infinity war. But thats not true, this movie was a excellent setup to endgame and that it would make sense that this movie would come out after infinty war. This movie is not pointless, it has a purpose.

The plot: Scott Lang is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. Approached by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym, Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy.

If you have watched and liked the first one, than you will like this one as well.

Charming fish-out-of-water comedy drama, source of many inferior rip-offs. Sounds like a familiar story: materialistic high flier finds himself in an authentic community and begins to remember what the Important Things in Life are. However, what makes Local Hero pretty much the only film in this sub-genre worth your time is the fact it is so understated, and even subverts the form to some extent: the locals are in no illusions about how much easier their lives would be with a little more material wealth.

There are some laugh-out-loud moments, but in general this is more one of those consistently very amusing and slightly whimsical films, not at all meant to be taken seriously - there's a running joke about one character having a very abusive therapist, while the implication is that another character is part-mermaid. Well-played by a great ensemble cast (many well-known faces, although Peter Riegert doesn't seem to have had many other high profile parts), an exceptionally likeable film.

A complete blast!
A mysterious signal is emitted through electronics when you hear it, a voice convinces you that you need to kill everyone else.
Mya (Anessa Ramsey) is traveling across the city to escape from her crazy boyfriend Lewis (AJ Bowen), while Ben (Justin Welborn) seeks Anessa too.

The Signal (2007) is done in three parts, the first part introduces the characters and the plot and throws them into a world of violence. It's brutal, crazy, and disturbing. The movie starts out like a good horror movie.
The second part shifts the tone entirely. It becomes a hilarious dark comedy. The cast is perfect in their dry witty delivery. I loved it!
The third part concludes the plot, returning the tone to a serious one again.

Overall, the acting was solid, the action was well done. The horrifying moments were disturbing, the comedic moments were hilarious. I minus one star for the big tonal shifts, which may turn away some viewers. But I still loved it. Highly recommended.
