Young Frankenstein (1974)

"I can’t help myself. I think Mel Brooks pulled off a magic trick, which was to pull off a parody of a certain style of film, but also make it something absolutely new at the same time. I love The Producers because it has such great characters, but Young Frankenstein is a little broader and it has some of the most brilliant comic moments. It’s hammy without being overtly crass like Blazing Saddles was. Madeleine Kahn — God bless her — it’s one of the best comic performances that I know of. I go back to it and see something new that she’s added to it. Mel Brooks and she must have fed off each other’s madness to get that sort of performance. And Marty Feldman attacking her fox stole and chewing on it; I lose it every time when I see that."

More than Comics ( Chasing the Dream 2)
By Elizabeth Briggs
⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've been in love with Tara long before I became a famous rock star. We talk every day. We know everything about each other. But we've never met in person.

Until now.

Four days at Comic-Con together might change everything between us. She can never know how I feel about her. I won't ruin our friendship. I can't.

But I can't resist her either. And after one hot, unforgettable night together she sees me as more than her best friend too.

Can our online relationship turn into a real life romance? Or will it destroy our friendship forever?

This was sweet, loving the Comic-Con fun mixed in too pretty easy going read. Not much more I can really say.

We're still a good 6 years or so before the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) here.

Before Comic book movies became the big thing they are nowadays.

Wesley Snipes returns, here, as the titular half-human/half-vampire ("all of their strengths. None of their weaknesses. Except the thirst") waging his ongoing war on the vampire nation, but now finding himself having to 'team up' with some from that nation - who had been training to hunt him - in order to fight a new breed of vampire, the Reapers (whose mouth looks like something out of Predator), who feed on both Vampires and Humans alike and who are led by that-bloke-from-Bros.

This is both more comic-booky (to coin a phrase) than the original, whilst also a bit more of a horror film - those Reapers are nasty!

I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley for an unbiased opinion.

The Awkward Yeti may very well be my favorite online comic. This newest collection will make awesome holiday presents for any of your friends that feel the same way. The daily battle between our hearts and our brains is perfectly depicted. So happy I got a chance to review this.

This movie is incredible. Without a doubt the best movie in the X Men universe and a strong contender for the greatest comic book movie of all time. All of the cast are amazing, the way that the plot plays out is incredible and the weight that this movie carries is felt throughout, which isn't an easy thing to capture.

A conspiracy theorist and comic book geeks wet dream of a movie, not only bags of fun to spot the nods and winks but at times laugh out loud funny as Seth Rogan's voice is somehow ideal for Paul and with Frost & Pegg as co stars this really should have been the triple as part of the Cornetto trilogy over 'The Worlds End' by a country mile.

I loved the TV series based on this from summer of 2008 and had to see how it began. The three stories collected in this book did form the basis of three episodes. Definitely worth reading for fans of comic books or the TV show.
