Confession time... I've never read an Ian Fleming James Bond novel.

Don't hate me. They're on the list.

But I have seen all the films, so when Dynamite announced they were doing a Bond comic, I figured I'd give it a go. All in all, not to bad. An enjoyable, if pedestrian Bond plot, with all the trappings to make it Bond. Brutal deaths, sly jokes, cool weapons, sexual innuendo, and everything blows up at the end. What more could you want?

I liked the art work, although it was a bit graphic for a Bond film, this is obviously a "dark and gritty" reboot style telling. And that's fine, just expect that when you go in. Bond looks more like Sterling Archer than Daniel Craig, and that's also fine, since Craig isn't at the top of my Bond list anyway. In fact, none of the characters are drawn to represent anyone specific, so separate continuity and all that.

I hoped for more, but wasn't disappointed.

The best thing Marvel has done yet is hire James Gunn to direct the Guardians of the Galaxy series. He has such a spectacular vision for the Guardians and their far-flung place in the MCU. He keeps the action and laughs rolling throughout this second volume of the series, and I honestly can't decide which of the two I like more. These movies have made instant pop-culture icons out of lesser known comic book heroes, and for good reason. The characters are all well written, with completely disparate personalities that lead them to interact with each other in often hilarious ways. Not only that, but they are all completely badass. It's going to be a real treat to see this ragtag group of the galaxy's biggest assholes go toe-to-toe with Thanos alongside the rest of the MCU heroes in Infinity War.

I really don't understand all the great reviews this film is getting. I am not a comic book hero fan in general but this was one I was so excited to watch as I LOVED the Wonder Woman tv show when I was younger. I wanted to be Wonder Woman, I dressed as her for a fancy dress....I thought she was AMAZING! When she spun around into her costume, the primary colours, the excitement....just brilliant. And then we have this shambles of a film to honour her, oh dear.
Her costume is drab, the cinematography is drab (other than Themyscira), the story is boring, Gal Gadot can't pick an accent she wants to use the whole way through, the villain is crap, her morals flip flop- she hates war and cries about it and then brings down a church (which contained one sniper) not caring if there are any civilians around, blah blah blah. So disappointing.

I honestly wasn't sure about this movie before watching it. I didn't want to watch another spider man origin story but I have to say this film blew me away.
The animation style of this film is amazing. It feels fresh and new whilst keeping the comic book feel too it which I really enjoyed. I can tell that in 3D it would have been even more epic on the big screen. Also the soundtrack that accompanies the film is epic... Some great choices there.
The voice actors were amazing and great choices and it was great and emotional to see Stan Lees cameo performance as well, especially as it was released around the time of his passing.
If your not sure about seeing this or think that the animation will take away from it it really really doesn't and totally adds to it so watch it when you can.

Better than expected

Well, first off, this was a lot funnier than I was expecting. It's a simple story of four friends, well sort off, who go to Las Vegas for one of their stag nights, but after being slipped something, they lose their memories of the night, as well as the groom and find a trail of destruction left in their wake! Including a baby, a tiger and stolen police car!

This "Who Done it" scenario is played to comic effect quite well but there's nothing to justify the film's reputation. It's funny in parts and the performances are quite believable as the bazaar situations play out but in the end, the final is pay off doesn't work for me, being somewhat of an any climax. But having said that, it does try to deliver a message or two about relationships and has its moments but overall I wanted more comedy and less moralising whilst trying to be as gross as possible.

Not half bad thoughÂ…

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from start to finish, an emotional rollercoaster that I think was the best way to culminate a 22 movie comic book arc.
This film had everything, all the Marvel characters you know and love, a homage to the past films, a cap Vs cap showdown and a battle the likes of which has never been seen.
Even though it is a film I desperately want to see again and again I did downgrade it from full marks as there are plot holes, especially as they are so careful not to mess with the time line, even though the final battle does mess with the timeline completely. Unless there is something that can later be explained.
Overall, I laughed, I cried and I was fully entertained with this movie and would recommend to anyone as long as they have seen the earlier marvel releases.
To conclude I love Avengers: Endgame 3000!

More animated antic, good for kids, not amazing
So The Secret Life of Pets was a decent animated movie, with lead voicing being done by Patton Oswalt, while not really requiring a sequel it got one and its really okay, the plots on animated films can not be difficult given the young audience, so adults may find this kind of obvious what will happened from start to end.

The voice talents of Harrison Ford do add to the film, and being honest, is the reason I gave a 6 instead of a 5. The marketing for the film has been quite heavy in recent weeks and was prominent at MCM Comic-Con over the launch weekend.

It is fair to say the film succeeds in its goal, it makes the little humans laugh, and really that is what you want.

I really enjoyed Gal Gadots' take on Diana in this movie she gives a very good strong performance and Chris Pine was the perfect foil to her character. Costume design, cgi work and the pacing of the movie. (0 more)
I didn't like the final battle it was a fairly good twist in the end but it just didn't feel as good as the sciences leading up to it. (0 more)
On the right track
All in all I thought this was a very good movie with great performances especially from Gal and Chris. I really enjoyed the comic levity Chris Pines' character gave between Gal Gadots' naive attitude at times. Also the space inbetween actions scenes I took as a direct link towards her upbringing as she got to basically enjoy herself whilst others learn to fight and then her aunt started to train her and then she started to grow into the woman she is meant to be.

Jessica Jones Season 1 was such an amazing take on the comic books and really just gave me what I've been missing from the Marvel Universe. Krysten Ritter was not someone I would have picked to play Jessica Jones but she took the role by the horns and really just blew me away.

The show has some of the not only best female characters I've come across but has some of the best relationships between female characters which a lot of tv shows and movies miss out on for some reason.

For me though David Tennant was just the one that stole the entire show every time he was on screen he just drew you in and you just could not look away from him.

I had been meaning to read this graphic novel for a while, having heard good things about how it used a sci-fi / action story to talk about homophobia, racism, free will, first love, and self-acceptance; and in light of recent current events, it seemed like the perfect time. The artwork is absolutely wonderful, and perfectly captures all the nuances of the story, which is pretty great in itself. While it can occasionally feel a little predictable, the tale of Deacon and Jeff was sweetly romantic and contained many moments that I found very relatable, in spite of the science fiction setting and sporadic bursts of violence. In a way, this story is similar to recent British hit anthology show "Black Mirror", in that it uses its sci-fi setting to tell a deeply human story to great effect. While it may fall a little short of being a masterpiece, it is a great comic, and one I would love to see continued.
