"This really scared me coming out of it. You knew it was made for 10 cents – that was obvious – but it actually had some fabulous performances. Some of the moments – like when Leatherface kicks open the door and comes after them – I mean your blood just runs cold. It was just amazingly visceral visual storytelling. A few years earlier, I was at college and I wrote a synopsis for a novel and my teacher feedback was “this would make a great movie!” And I was crestfallen, but it made me realise I had a great visual imagination as well, and for years I fought it but eventually realised that was the thing I could do"

"I loved Pan’s Labyrinth. It transported me into another world. I like fantasy worlds; I love Lord of the Rings as well, for that reason, because you really get to get out of reality and go somewhere else. Pan’s Labyrinth was kind of this dark, sick, beautiful… it was like watching a moving painting, like a Salvador Dali painting or something like that. It was just really magical and it sort of provoked so many different feelings at one time. It’s kind of sick, you know, the guy with no eyes is coming at her and it felt like when you have a crazy dream — you’re watching someone’s crazy dream. It just affected me."

"This reminds me of childhood. It was a US release that took songs from their debut, Three Imaginary Boys, along with singles from the time. I could often hear it coming through the walls of my brother’s room. And that definitely had a big effect on how I remember that period. I don’t know what it was in particular that grabbed my attention; there was just something really enticing and compelling about it. We each had little hi-fi systems in our rooms and when he went out I’d just sort of nick or borrow it, take it into my room along with other stuff like The Smiths and Siouxsie & The Banshees."

Very short story (1 more)
It's very similar to the previous animated films
A big disappointment
I was really looking forward to this when I saw Netflix had a Resident Evil anime series coming out. It's such a shame though and a missed opportunity. Only 4 episodes long and around 22 minutes each episode. You have no real idea where this fits in timeline wise with the games, anywhere after the 2nd game basically. The storyline feels very similar to one of the extended anime films of Resident Evil, so not that original either. The animation is OK, close up scenes have a lot of detail. Other times it just looks like cut scenes from the games. Really hoped for better.

A glorious cinematic treat.
Almodovar's latest, this is a film REALLY worth seeing if you can find it in cinemas. A really thought-provoking tale of a man coming to terms with the state of his life in older age.

If you loved Alfonso Cuarón‘s “Roma“, I think you’ll also love this. This is a movie that has stuck with me since I saw it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed… but if you are, please comment!

I honestly went back and forth on how to properly rate this book. It was a quick read, but I almost gave up in a couple spots. The beginning was frustrating, with the MC encountering and complaining about problems she obviously put herself in. Then the twists started coming, and every time I thought I had it figured out, another twist hit, down to the literal last page. Did I absolutely love it? Not really. It was fine. Wild towards the end even. I'd probably give the beginning 2/5 stars, the middle 3/5, and the ending 4/5. And that's all I feel I can say without spoilers. 🤣

Childhood horror!
Brilliant little vampire film!

Thus is a film about two men on the run from the law trying to flee over the Mexico boreder, with the police hot on there tail they have to find away, unfortunately it's to commandeer a Christian family and there r.v, from there they take the family to the meeting point, a nice lively bar called titty twisters. Everything is fine until a fight breaks out and a little blood is she'd it's then this film really starts with a fight to survive against a vampire horde that just don't stop coming many die but who will live...... definitely worth the watch for an old cheesy horror!!!

Dark and sad
Jenna has left her old life behind to start again after a severe tragedy. You get a glimpse into a nee life she is building for herself before her pasts come back to bite her.

This book is full of delicious twists and turns that I did not see coming. Part 1 and 2 are very different perspectives.

The characters are all very believable and my opinion of them change quite fluidly throughout the book. Some of the back story around the officers could have been left out as I personally think the story would have been great without it.
