I downloaded this ebook free thanks to one of the many sites I'm subscribed to, but never really have it another thought. On a whim, I decided to give it a try. I never expected to enjoy it as much as I did! It was a bit confusing in the beginning, trying to figure out who Duff and Romeo were, what their roles were, why they were important. Other than that, the suspense and uncertainty kept me on my toes - I literally spent all day at work coming up with different angles, suspects, outcomes. I couldn't wait to get home and read more. The cliffhanger at the end has me even more anxious to read the next book!

As a romance reader I'm definitely hacked off that it didn't end with sunshine and roses but at the same time I guess that with where the plot was going from the end of book 2 that there was no other way that it could end.
Being brutally honest, I'm just going to chuck out Insurgent and Allegiant and keep Divergent and think of it as a stand alone where Tris and Tobias live HEA.

This is marvellous Victorian thriller set from the points of view of two flawed yet highly interesting characters. The central plot of murder, intrigue and abuse is written very well and is a brilliant page turner. I literally couldn't put this book down. It's not perfect and gets a tad rambly at times with some slightly old school language, but for the most part it's such an entertaining read. And the ending was completely unexpected and such a great twist, I really didnt see it coming.
