Beautiful and haunting

A well written story set in the 1400's, recounted by Samuel, the court jester. Samuel is likeable, fun and it's heartwarming to see him learn a new skill that helps him to follow a dream.

Being a jester has its advantages, not only did it gain him favour with the King, leading to working in the castle but it earned him the trust and confidence of many. With this trust he's able to weave a rich tapestry of stories together, tales of love and hope, hardships and tragedy.

A truly beautiful, heartwarming and haunting read that gives you food for thought.

I would definitely recommend this for the romantic reader, the reader that enjoys a historical background and anyone that is in a book group - it's an absolute must!

The emotional side of a story you already know
We all know about Winston Churchill. Whether that be through sitting in a history lesson and being told of how he won the war for us or having your grandparents tell you all about it over Christmas dinner. He was a truly iconic man and this film did an excellent job of showcasing that and more. Nobody can imagine the amount of pressure on that man's shoulders, stepping into take charge of the country at such a critical time, being constantly told you were doing it all wrong. In the end, it shows how just hat little bit of confidence and support can spur you on to do what you truly think is best. If you need to feel uplifted, I highly recommend the film.
