The Wall offers new insight into a long-questioned Middle East conflict, but it’s certainly a familiar-yet-engaging battlefield story

Strong performances by the entire cast (1 more)
A masterclass in tension
Worryingly advertised as a traditional horror which may disappoint some viewers (1 more)
A film that asks more questions than it answers
Consider this more a 'chiller' than a horror. A story of desperation, conflict and the weight of decision making.
Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated The Doll Maker in Books
Dec 26, 2018
The Doll Maker is a traditional suspense mystery with a lesbian twist. The main characters were both complicated and their internal conflict was as much an antagonist as the actually murderer. This is a new direction for Highton-Stevenson and I look forward to reading more in this direction.

The follow-up to The Strain continues apace, with the master on the loose and transformed following the rooftop conflict at the end of the first book. The momentum continues throughout and the action continues to unfold. Rated less than the first book because I preferred the origin/mystery aspect.
