Complete let down
In Conjuring 2 where the nun makes it's first appearance, it scared the bejibbes out of me, so I was so excited when they announced the nun was coming out with her movie. From the beginning, it was stale, boring and uneventful. It wasn't scary, I wouldn't even come close to saying it was a horror film at all. So disappointed.

"I don’t want to spoil it for anybody, but I think I will, and I’m sorry. I love that movie. It kind of reminds me of The Conjuring. I just watched it recently. I can’t really speak on it because half the movie I was closing my eyes. It was one of the scariest movies. But the build-up in it and when the little girl goes: [he clucks]!"

If you are a fan of the movies then you will enjoy the nostalgia of the genre, but don’t expect those screams. For me, this movie is more akin to The Nun than the first two movies, but it’s not the worst in the Conjuring Universe, it’s just great to see the characters back on the big screen again, heck it’s nice to be back at the cinema to see a film on the big screen.

Better than expected
Found this little gem on Netflix(original). The acting, cinematography and effects are decent. The story played out well. A little bit of a slow starter but kept the interest throughout. No big names that I knew, but the characters were well played. Takes place in the eighties in Scotland and it feels like you're watching a movie made in the eighties. If you're into creepy, supernatural horror flicks this one will please you. Not "The Conjuring" good but still worth a watch.

Not bad
The acting, cinematography, story were all well done. Some background on Elise and her history but with parts that tie the series together(they all have that). This indee seemed a little more predictable but still very entertaining. I'm wondering if they're going to continue the series with her niece playing a main role. Anyway, if you like the other insidious movies you'll enjoy this one. This and "The Conjuring" series a.r.e two of thre betterf horror series out today. Worth a watch!

Watched last night good scary movie not all horror movies need gore but just as effective with jump scares instead and there's plenty of them as I've already seen the nun and learnt about her backstory and knew about the Enfield haunting already. The stand out star goes to madision Wolfe who plays janet the daughter at the center of the haunting amazing young actress. Some point gonna watch the third conjuring movie devil made me do it

Annabelle Comes Home (2019)
Annabelle Comes Home (2019)
2019 | Horror, Mystery, Thriller
The Conjuring Universe has grown steadily over the years. The introduction of Annabelle was a sinister spin-off for a genre that was kicked started in terrifying style by James Wan. Since then it’s been up and down. The Conjuring spawned a sequel, with one more scheduled for next year. The Nun was introduced (poorly in my opinion) and with this, Annabelle has her trilogy.

Paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) are back again. The opening events serve as a continuation of the first film. When they leave their daughter Judy (Mckenna Grace), in the hands of babysitter Mary Ellen (Madison Iseman) and her friend Daniela (Katie Sarife) the inquizitive trio release the unwanted entity into the house.

These films are a mine field of jump scares and elongated tension. But that seems to be lacking as it takes time to really get going. When it does it is nothing that we haven’t experienced before. There are a few effective moments. Ghosts with coins on their eyes and a woman in a wedding dress provide some spine chilling scenes – but that is as far as it goes.

The films over the years have followed a varied timeline in the Conjuring Universe and Annabelle has featured in two movies, the first set in 1967 and Annabelle: Creation set in 1955, in Annabelle Comes Home we are taken to 1967 shortly after the Warren’s obtained the Annabelle doll, when a teenager and her friend unknowingly awaken an evil spirit trapped in a doll while they babysit Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) Warren’s daughter, Judy (Mckenna Grace), all hell breaks loose!

The third movie in the Annabelle series and seventh in the Conjuring Universe starts as the Warrens take possession of Annabelle and make their way home to lock her up safely with their other artefacts, but on root they come across an incident that those have seen The Curse of la Llorona will recognise as Patricia Alvarez is at a tunnel near the viaduct where La Llorona drowned her sons in the 2019 movie, the Warrens are told to take a detour on the way their car breaks down, Lorraine is visited by a spirit that tells her, “I like you doll”, then she sees many spirits wanting to use Annabelle as a vessel.

So I've seen all the other movies from The Conjuring series so I had to see this one. It turned out pretty good. The acting was as good as the others and the cinematography/effects were really good. The story started ot a little slow but once things started happening they kept on going. A little predictable but still got me with a couple jump scares. The creepy factor is definitely there too. All in all if you liked the others you'll like this one too. Worth a watch!

"Speaking of twisted, tragic, handsome, et cetera: Warren Oates is quietly the centerpiece of this picture. Or is it Laurie Bird? Probably Laurie Bird. She’s certainly at least as handsome and tragic. I may be conjuring up Warren Oates’s character in Monte Hellman’s more straight-ahead Cockfighter. This film is more passive. It rambles across scenic America, unconditionally picking up ramblers and spitting them out, while inviting you to aimlessly contemplate what it all means. I’m almost positive we stayed at that very Best Western in Albuquerque on tour."
