As usual Steve Berry does not disappoint. Cotton Malone, Cassiopeia Vitt, & Stephanie Nelle are 3 of my favorite characters. And happily, this book was no exception. It had all the history, intrigue, murder, & mayhem you come to expect from Cotton & Berry. No matter how many books I read with this combination they never get old.

I am really impressed with Steve Berry's new Cotton Malone book. The ability to cover such a deep and controversial story such as Martin Luther King Jr. death and to show the respect to the family and survivors of that terrible day in Mississippi. The book was well written and I felt as if covering it strickly from Cotton's point of view was a good call and allowed us a glimpse of what Cotton thinks and feels about the other characters and how he internally reconciling the events and truths that occur throughout the story line.

Steve Berry and his Cotton Malone books never disappoint! Another great read. This one delves in to the conspiracy theory that the 16th Amendment was never truly ratified making all taxes collected since the early 1900s fraudulent. As usual Malone & his Magellan Billet boss save the U.S.

Lustful Californian trio LANY make love songs for the millennial generation. Bottling up teenage emotions and expressing it in effervescent electronica and wistful melodies, their self-titled debut is 16 tracks of minimalistic and clean compositions

Lindsay (1717 KP) rated A Silken Thread in Books

I love the fact, that A Silken Thread is mostly a historical fiction book with a little bit of romance. The author does a really good job of telling a story though three main characters. The story is based around the Cotton Exposition of 1895. We learn a bit about what life a bit after the civil war and what life is like for southerners.
Their a story about African American and whites though out the story. Though we have a bit of story with a fourth character as well. Laurel is looking for someone to love her and find maybe find love along the way. She applies to be a weaver in the silk room.
Willie applies to the Cotton Exposition for he want to help pay for his fathers hospital bills and to help him get better. Willie friend Quincy has gotten a job their as well. We also have Langdon. What the author show though out the book is how world is viewed between each character. She does a well job of it.
