It has good scares, great actors and a few engaging moments. It also has a few scenes from, and references to, the book that the original left out. (0 more)
While it adds a couple of elements from the book that the original film left out, it takes a few too many liberties when deviating from the source material in other areas. (1 more)
The setup of the film takes far too little time, leaves many questions unanswered, confuses the average viewer that hasn't read the book, and lacks the ability to keep you immersed.

Not bad
So I've seen all the other movies from The Conjuring series so I had to see this one. It turned out pretty good. The acting was as good as the others and the cinematography/effects were really good. The story started ot a little slow but once things started happening they kept on going. A little predictable but still got me with a couple jump scares. The creepy factor is definitely there too. All in all if you liked the others you'll like this one too. Worth a watch!

A couple of these I have read for the authors before but a lot of these were new reads for me. I loved all these authors. They are amazing writers, the stories were so much fun to read. I loved the problems that they had.. the love that was found.. and of course all the paranormal beings in the stories. Totally amazing box set and I am so glad I got this from the authors for a read/review. I will recommend this set to all my friends

So this was really interesting and intriquing. I did get lost a couple of times because I should have read the first two before this one but overall I was able to figure out what characters were who and why. It was a really good read... I am not a big f/f fan to be honest but it was tastefully done and didn't bother me much. There was a lot of mystery involved.. the characters were easy going and funn to read and i am glad i got to review it

Strange
A very strange and quirky film. It has some scenes filmed in Scotland high streets with the cameras hidden whilst the public walk past Scarlett Johansson, in a wig, unnoticed. Even featuring a couple of people in the film who were just volunteers really to take part.
The score is good and helps with the eerie feel. The main problem is that the film doesn't seem to know which direction to take. It does turn quite dark suddenly as well. More well known for other reasons.

When Monk is fired by the SFPD, Natalie tries to find them both jobs. Meanwhile, Monk is obsessed with proving a man under house arrest for his ponzi scheme is also guilty of murder. The set up was a bit too familiar since it was also used a couple of books ago. A few of the characters also seemed over the top. Minor complaints in another great tie in novel.

A decent Thriller
A very entertaining thriller which is slightly weird and very creepy. Apparently entirely filmed on an iPhone. This does make the visuals look a little less polished but also enhances the overall feel of the film. I wouldn't say it's scary but it does have a slight claustrophobic feel as the main character seems unable to do much about her situation. There are a couple of plot holes you might need to ignore. Overall though a good thriller and something different to the norm.

I had heard about this book time and time again over the past couple of years on reddit so when I finally got my hands onto a copy I had to dive in. I love all things horror, and this was the perfect amount of genuine creepiness and true psychological suspense. I've seen a few rough reviews based on the author's writing but I disagree. It was easy to read for me and had just the right amount of emotion in it for me. I would love to see more from this author!

Easy read (0 more)
Predictable storyline (0 more)
I read this book for a book club on good reads a couple months ago. I enjoyed it, even though it was fairly Predictable, and kind of repetitive. The main character was a little two dimensional. This book is set in Scotland, which I thought was cool. The descriptions the author gave were very well written.

If you're looking for an easy read to while away an evening, look no further. But if you like a little more intelligence and actions in your reading, you might want to keep looking.

Not a bad read. I would only change the pace of the story is all. The author took waaaaaay too long to clue us in to what was happening. I nearly stopped reading it a couple of times. I will however, give the benefit of the doubt to the author. The ending of this story made-up for some of my pacing disappointment. I still haven't decided if I want to read more of what happens or not. I wish I were more enthusiastic about the sequel but I just think this story was alright.
