Great
Finally! A really good supernatural thriller/ horror film. The cinematography was on par. The acting was great(the little boy was quite impressive!). The story unfolded really well with a few jump scares and an interesting take on certain ideologies. Very well written. A little predictable in a couple parts, but not enough to ruin the movie. The only thing that disappointed me was that, as always seems to be the case anymore, it left itself open for a sequel. Hollywood can't resist itself, I guess(always looking to "piggyback" on a potential hit)but other than that I highly recommend this film. REALLY worth a watch!

Not bad
As far as horror movies go this one was pretty good. A creepy "what if" superhero movie. The acting was ok and the cinematography wasn't too bad. The story was unique so I appreciated that. It unfolded well enough and had a few jump scares but it's the idea they were trying to put in your head. The "what if someone as powerful as superman was evil" really would be a scary thing. The ceo factor read here and it had a couple "gory" scenes so may not be great for kids. Otherwise I'd definitely say this is a good one for movie night. Worth a watch.

I voluntary reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
I am hard pressed to find anything Carrie Ann Ryan writes that I dont enjoy. I am not a fan of contemporary romance but I know that Ryan rarely, if ever, disappoints. Inked Expressions has everything you come to love from a Ryan contemporary romance: characters with more depth than the Grand Canyon, a storyline as entertaining as it is romantic, and lets not leave out the steamy scenes between a couple youll root for from page one. Not to mention it is a friends to lovers story which is hands down one of my favorite tropes.

ArecRain (8 KP) rated Eternal Passion in Books
Jan 18, 2018
The second novel I have read by India Masters and, quite honestly, the better of the two. I felt that Eternal Passion flowed better, not sounding so hurried to reach the climax. It did have a case of insta-lust (which was an ultra-hot scene to be honest) which felt rushed to me, but I enjoyed reading the couples interaction and growth with each other.
Overall, Eternal Passion is an enjoyable read with interesting characters and an involved world. I wish we could have had a more in depth look at the planet and what happened to it but it didnt detract from the story.

Always a different topic with a great expert, and does a great job interviewing, Amazing for Game Designers especially for aspiring ones
I love this podcast. I'm a aspiring board game designer with a couple of prototypes but still have a long way to go. It never fails to inspire me to do better and consider things from a different perspective. Gabe does a very nice job selecting experts on the topic from the game world. I'd list the names but they won't mean much if you don't play board games. This is a great show and an amazing resource for us designers.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2352 KP) rated The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line (Veronica Mars, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Set a couple of months after the movie ends, Veronica is hired to find a college student who vanished from a party during spring break. With the tourist industry in town losing money, can Veronica find this girl?
The plot was worth of the franchise with some great twists and turns. The characters were also true to themselves, and I loved spending time with them. My only real complaint was that I missed the snark of Veronica's voiceover narration from the TV show and movie.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2352 KP) rated Mr. Monk Gets on Board (Mr. Monk #17) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When Natalie decides to attend a business conference on a cruise ship, she is surprised when Monk tags along. She's almost talked him into leaving when she over hears a murder plot. Can they stop it? Can they prove who the killer is?
A couple of times, this book got a little lost in the fun of Monk on the cruise ship, just like the series. And just like in the series, I enjoyed those moments. The mystery was still strong and the characters were great as always.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2352 KP) rated Earthquake Shock (Disaster Strikes, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Joey and his friends are heading home from the skate park when an earthquake hits, separating them. Can they find each other and get home? What will they encounter along the way? Is their home still standing?
This is a good early chapter book. As such, I read through it quickly, although it will take the early elementary school target audience a little longer to get through. The characters were real and showed some growth, and the plot had a couple of scenes that made me turn pages quickly.

Not as bad as expected
I was quite surprised that this film wasn't as atrocious as I'd expected. I'd anticipated it to be ridiculously crude with very bad humour (like Sausage Party), but it was actually quite inoffensive. Don't get me wrong, it isn't a particularly good film but neither is it an awful one. The humour is a bit lacking, although it did raise a couple of smiles and it is a bit daft at times. Altogether it's just an inoffensive silly film which is sadly a bit forgettable. The kind of film you'd put on in the background and not pay any attention to.
