Seth MacFarlane's acting
Not knowing what it wanted to be hurt the beginning
I had trouble accepting this show because I went in expecting a straight comedy, which is the takeaway I had from the commercials. But it wasn't funny enough to be a parody. And it wasn't serious enough to be a serious sci-fi show.
Slowly it grew on me though. I accepted it for what it is and started to get a Star Trek: The Next Generation feel.
The stories are interesting and the characters are great, especially the non-human characters.
Definitely worth a shot. If you find yourself unimpressed with the first couple eps, stick with it, it will grow on you.

A retro tale of revenge
Not everyone loved Mafia 2, but I did. I thought the story at the time was one of the best that I had ever played through, so I was extremely excited to get my hands on the third outing.
When the game was released though, I held off buying it as all I heard was how it was full of glitches and bugs. After a couple of months and a few updates, I eventually got round to playing it
Unfortunately Lincoln's story isn't as interesting as Vito's was. This is still a decent gangster story, but it is to Mafia 2 what Black Mass is to Goodfellas. They are both pretty good but one is a league above the other.

I love the cinematography in this series! The color schemes, the camera work, the choices that are made throughout are great. The story likewise, though it is quite slow through the first couple of eps as the team is re-introduced and brought together. Jessica Jones' snark is great, Luke Cage is strong and thoughtful as always, Matt Murdock steeps in his angst a bit more than I'd really prefer, and Danny Rand...is a spoiled, immature child playacting at being a superhero as before but everyone else's reactions to him make him a bit more palatable. The discussion between Cage and Rand in episode 2 was great.
Overall this is a good addition to Marvel canon. It's only as strong as its story and its weakest link, but still an enjoyable show.

This was one of the most twisted and disturbing stories I have ever read. And it makes me want to read more!
It's Nick & Amy's 5th year wedding anniversary. Amy is up early making crepes and she has prepared their annual treasure hunt. After Nick arrives at work, he receives an unusual call from his neighbor; the front door to his house is open and Amy appears to be gone.
The police investigation turns up blood all over the kitchen floor and overturned furniture in the living room. But there is something very strange about this "crime scene."
After weeks of searching, there is still no sign of Amy. Where is Amy? Who took her and why? The search will turn up lots of interesting and strange information about this couple.

What could possibly happen at a wedding in Vegas?
Event planner Liv McKay is heading to Vegas to celebrate the nuptials of her mama and Earl at an Elvis themed chapel but runs into more trouble than she bargained for. For starters, they have a bachelorette party that doesn’t turn out as expected and then the Elvis impersonator wedding officiant dies just seconds before pronouncing the couple husband and wife.
If that isn’t the worse of things, Liv’s cousin Little Junior is listed as the prime suspect. Can Liv and her bestie Di figure out who the real killer is and also get mama and Earl hitched?
This book is filled with humorous and fun-loving southern characters, more twists and turns than can imagine, and a mystery that will keep you guessing.

While browsing the graphic novel/comic section of my library, I noticed this title, glanced at the synopsis and opened to a random place in order to see if I liked the art enough to check it out. Well, yes I did. The artwork is gorgeous, both simple and elegant and perfectly captures the 1920's setting. The dialogue is sparse, but the illustrations speak more than enough for the story. My only complaints are that there are a couple spots that I felt could be expanded, especially in regards to the relationship between Snow and "the Seven". I don't know if there was supposed to be more time passing but it felt like they just met and then *bam* they're one family. Otherwise, is was a lovely read.

We need to talk about Brandon
A childless couple in small town Kansas discover a spacecraft in their barn with a baby inside. They raise the child as their own, trying to give him flyover zone morals. So far, the story seems very familiar. However, ten years later, puberty hits Brandon hard. He gains super strength, the power to fly at the speed of light, and glowing red heat vision. He is also obsessed with human anatomy, but not the usual body parts, more like the liver and kidneys. His grey-haired mother and farmer father try to set him straight, but his alien vehicle calls out to him and tells him to destroy the world. What in the name of Caesar's Ghost is going on in Kansas?

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Normally I love Valerie Bowman and I have a weakness for childhood friends-to-lovers stories. That being said, I was disappointed that I didnt enjoy this novel as much as I thought I would. Of course it was predictable. I could have laid out the plot for you before I even opened it. But that hasnt bothered me before. I like the main couple although I lost patience with heros stubbornness.
I cant pinpoint anything exactly wrong with this novel. I just felt underwhelmed once it ended? I love Valerie Bowman and will continue to read her novel, but this novel just didnt do it for me like she usually does.
