"For when you need to see courage in action This is historical fiction about the occupation of France during World War II, and it’s hardly light reading. But it sure is gripping. It will transport you to another time and place so completely, you’ll feel like you lived it. And even though it’s maybe the last book I’d normally think of as vacation reading, it's a page-turning read about courage in action. Something we could all use right about now."

SMALL TALK Trailer

They have lived like strangers under one roof for decades, almost never talking to each other. One day, Hui-chen finally summons up the courage to sit her mother down and talk.

"I opened this book seeking answers about the relationships between creativity, vulnerability, and courage. I didn’t expect it to profoundly change the way I work. This is one of the most important leadership books of our time"

"What can I say that hasn’t been said already? Apart from a personal story that I find enormously inspiring, I was blown away by how honest, open, and real this book was - and how much courage it took to write it."

Frightening.
This was a fascinating insight into growing up in an extremely religious family. Also an essential expression of why health and safety regulations, and child protection laws, are absolutely necessary. Kudos to the author for surviving this experience with grace and courage.

This is a book where coloured maids in 1963 are afraid to speak up. This is a book where they gain the courage to tell a white lady what actually happens inside their lives. No one is ready to hear the truth, everyone is scared for their future, but bravery is a strong attire to have, and the maids prove they have what it takes. Lot of courage, lots of excitement, anxiety and me biting my nails over and over again, but definitely book that's worth reading. And definitely a book that will open your eyes about what actually happened back then.

Disclaimer: I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This book has everything you could want in a mystery: an interesting detective, a fascinating crime, a bevy of information and connections to wade through, and of course, a love interest.

Lionel Stroud, stockbroker to the wealthiest of investors, suspects an employee of rather egregious charges. He hires our man Courage to help dig up some dirt on the man at the bequest of his estranged daughter, who happens to be Courage's ex-lover. *cue the intrigue*

Things seem to be going all fine and dandy for the investigation until Courage drops by the employee's house, only to find someone beat him to the punch, and with a firearm, no less. Now, there's a much deeper case to solve, and it looks like all the evidence is pointing to one man: Courage.

Who did it? How'd they do it? WHY did they do it? Grab your own copy to find out.
