I was on such a roller coaster with this book but the ending was a little... "lack-luster" for me. (0 more)
Relatable!
I absolutely could not put this book down! The creative writing of Albertalli was well done and brought me along on a journey with her very real characters. Though slightly predictable at times, this book was everything I wanted it to be.

The main character, Molly, is a twin. Throughout this novel, we see Molly struggle with identity and the coming of age process that comes with discovering who you are through a long series of crushed until she finds one that "clicks". Molly's twin sister (Cassie) and her new girlfriend (Mina) are determined to set Molly up with Mina's best friend Will. The pair believe this will be the perfect match as then the twin set will not be separated by love. Unfortunately, things don't work out as planned and we, as readers, are suddenly caught in the whirlwind of teen romance and self-discovery.

So creative - a totally unique writer
Fabulous!

I'd been expecting good things from this book, as everyone always tells me how wonderful Angela Carter is, and it certainly delivered!

It's a surreal, earthy kind of book, divided into three distinct parts, which largely focus on the introduction of Fevvers (the fabulous cockney winged woman), the days at the circus, and the wilds of Siberia. Hey, I did warn you it was surreal!

In this book, the reader encounters intelligent pigs (I LOVED Sybil!), brothel madams who like dressing up as Nelson, depressed clowns and more. It's a weird, wonderful world that Carter conjures up, but a joy to immerse yourself in!

It's also great to read an author who is simultaneously so elegant with her language, and so brutally down-to-earth. This echoes the main character in a way, who has the potential to soar to the sea or crash to the ground.

Definitely a must-read...I've no doubt I'll be revisiting this book in the future!

Covet Fashion is a fun game where you can create looks on dolls based on basic requirements some as simple as "style a look for a picnic date" to more complicated ones because it will require certain items. It's slow going at first but as you get better you'll earn more outfits. Be sure to connect to FB and JOIN FB GROUPS and make friends because you can borrow from their closets. You don't even have to be into fashion to like this g and just being creative and having fun. Joining the FB groups is also important because they will help tell you what dresses are "trending" of course you don't have to always follow the trends I tend to follow them sometime and go my own way others. Your scores are also decided by fellow players voting not just a random system or algorithm

Leah Kate is a rising singer-songwriter based in New York City. Not too long ago, she released a music video for her “Do What I Wanna Do” single.

‘Do What I Wanna Do’ tells an interesting tale of a young woman who wants to get into a relationship with a guy who she desires to be with.

Even though there might be some consequences involved in them being together, she still insists that they should push forward and take their changes.

‘Do What I Wanna Do’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and club-friendly instrumentation scented with an electric-dance fragrance.

Leah Kate’s sound fits somewhere in between the musical realms of King Princess and Charlotte Lawrence.

Having grown up with a family in media and submerged in the entertainment industry, the bubbly entertainer quickly found herself under enormous pressure.

That’s when she decided to escape to New York City, where she discovered her creative fulfillment and flourished into who she is today.

This is the EXACTLY the book I needed.

I don't think I have ever written a book, but reading this one makes me think I have. I too am a 30 something, shy, introverted, small town Texas girl who has no idea how to have a conversation (that doesn't involve ghosts or dogs) or make friends. I'm not Chinese, Aries or named Jessica (Pan) but I would have been if my cousin hadn't been born first, forcing my Mom to "get creative" and name me Jennifer (Ann) instead. The title of this book caught my attention, because SAME, but I had no idea just how relatable it was going to be! There were SO many times I caught myself nodding along enthusiastically or cringing at how awful some of these experiences she was forcing herself to have were, and just laughing out loud. Literally. I have finished this book inspired to go on an extrovert journey of my own - not today - but maybe someday soon I will be as brave as Jessica is.

I love erotica. The only thing I love reading more than erotica is fairytale erotica. I had high hopes for this book, and while the book didn’t meet the expectations that I had, it pleasantly surprised me. I was expecting something along the lines of what Nancy Madore writes about. Instead, I received a handful of very creative stories that were expertly written.

Not all the stories actually had sex in them, yet did have something that made them erotica. Each story also had its own world, story line, and character to it that made it special. I particularly loved the Beauty and the Beast story which, while being exceedingly different from the original (and Disney) story, it still held true to the beauty is not only skin deep theme of the tale.

That is how all the short stories of this novel are. Some of them, I wish had become full on novels of their own because of their great plotline. As an erotica novel, it fizzled. But what it lacked in eroticism, it definitely made up for with creativity.
