A better cut
Well I gave this a go as the first film was noticeably cut quite a bit and just didn't feel like a complete film. This version is considerably longer, 3hrs 45mins before the credits roll, but it does feel a more complete film. With more back stories on some characters and longer battle scenes. The SFX for Steppenwolf is better. Overall the tone and feel of the film is better.
To be honest I didn't feel like the film dragged despite the long run time as so much is crammed in. I've seen other films over 3 hours long that felt tediously slow in comparison. So if you haven't seen it yet definitely watch this version, worth checking out if you already liked the first version.

Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula (2020)
Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula (2020)
2020 | Action, Horror, Thriller
Was a little wary heading into this one as Train to Busan is one of the best movies I've seen over the past decade and maybe one of the best I've ever seen. Still, was excited when the opening credits began and we were off on another adventure. The film does a great job of keeping the action and excitement coming, but everything is watered down compared to the first film. The character development is weaker, as is the plot. You're not able to fully connect with the characters the way you were in Train to Busan. Don't get me wrong. There are a few moments in Peninsula that will tug at your heartstrings, but they feel formulaic and forced here, where they just seemed a natural part of the original's story. Still, two hours well spent.

Oh and Sophie Turner
A tragic end to a beloved franchise
What a horrific end to a franchise that helped pave way for all the superhero movies we get now.

You could find fault in just about every scene, from the ridiculous way they rushed jean grey into becoming the phoenix to the stupid ending (the jean grey school for gifted children!!!!) If I never see another film or tv show with sophie turner in it I will be a very happy man.She cant act and has the personality of a wet sock.

Michael Fassbender was criminally wasted and given nowhere near enough presence in the film.

The only saving grace is now the x-men are back home with marvel who will reboot them and make them great again.

That annoying dance (0 more)
Been watching all week due to feeling under the weather and so far I'm digging it probably the best show I've watched this year thought peacemaker was probably one of the best characters from last years suicide squad movie now with his own TV show I had too see it as its now being shown in the UK. John cena is back as peacemaker now we get more human side of the character a sorter side which we don't see in the movie. And then there's the sidekick Eagley who steals it from John cena every time he's on the screen. But don't get me started on the dance the actors do during the opening credits I'm dreading the possibility of attempting said dance next month at my next convention

David McK (3425 KP) rated Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) in Movies

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
1991 | Action, Drama, Romance
The last truly enjoyable Robin Hood movie, mostly because of Alan Rickman's sneering and preening Sheriff of Nottingham ("no more merciful beheadings, and call off Christmas!"), even if Costner can't do an English accent ("This is true English courage", said with a Californian drawl), that it has no understanding of English geography (apparently Nottingham is only a few miles walk from Dover) or that it is darker than you remember (ending with, essentially, an attempted rape scene).

For all that, however, this - at least - attempted to deepen and add some context to the Robin Hood legend - I think this may be the first where Robin returns from the Crusades with as Moorish companion? - and has a killer soundtrack by both Michael Kamen (especially the overture) and Bryan Adams (with *that* song in the end credits).
