Rolling Stone's 144th greatest album of all time
This album features so many of the best hip hop songs. While the lyrics and the theme of the album is a little too crime-based, it certainly sets the scene for life on the streets of LA and what they went through growing up. Musically it is excellent as well. Express Yourself is obviously the highlight.

I'm a sucker for anything dog-related and this book had me hooked from seeing the cover photo of a Golden Retriever. Fortunately, the book delivers on its promise of doggy goodness focusing on dog trainer Mason and his latest recruit super sniffer Vira.

This is a fast-paced crime drama with a great dog focus.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for the copy.

"I like Woody Allen. Crime and Misdemeanors I liked a lot. I think it’s just wonderful. I also enjoy many of those — I like Hannah and Her Sisters, and Husbands and Wives; I like Broadway Danny Rose. This morning I was watching Love and Death, with Diane Keaton which I like a lot. But Crimes and Misdemeanors is maybe the best one of those."

"I am really into thrillers/mysteries because they are propulsive and go down easy, but I am especially into the ones where you get sucked into the personal lives of the crime solver? Like, yes I want this guy to find these missing girls but also: can his broken heart ever be mended??? Anyway, I would read Louisa Luna's grocery lists if she published them."

"One of the most prolific writers in history, Simenon is best known for his crime novels featuring the detective Maigret. “I’ll manufacture Fords for a while until enough money comes in,” he said once, “Then I’ll make Rolls-Royces for pleasure.” Dirty Snow is a Rolls. A slender novel about a petty criminal living in a nameless occupied city, this book punches well above its weight class."

"Sluizer is a Dutch director I met in my early twenties and instantly liked and admired. Finally, in 1988, he made really good with this suffocating horror movie—so bland on the surface, so naturalistic in its acting, and yet as ghastly as any catacomb in its study of crime and perversion. When Sluizer remade the movie for Fox, the whole story lost its relentless, claustrophobic grip."

"A shatteringly beautiful memoir about Hinton’s life on death row for 28 years for a crime he did not commit. It’s a real downer to read about something as dark and unfortunate as wrongful incarceration, but Mr. Hinton expresses himself with a heart incomprehensibly swollen with love and gives meaningful insight into his alienating experience. And he does so with a disarming sense of humor."
