An explosive documentary and must-watch for true crime lovers
Content:
A man casually walks into a bank, with a bomb strapped to his neck and demands money. He gets caught on the parking lot after leaving the bank but he never makes it into a police car. 44 minutes after the first 911 call about the robbery and the bomb, the device around the mans neck detonates and kills him, all documented by CCTV and the Police. The man is Brian Wells, a pizza delivery man from this area. The documentary investigates the events around the murder of Brian Wells in Pennsylvania in 2003, which also became known as the โ€žPizza-Bomberโ€œ Case.

Review:
If you are looking for a casual show to watch while playing candy crush on your phone, this is not the documentary for you, because things become complicated quick, with loads of suspects, different crime scenes and a lot of different stories that are told.
To really enjoy this documentary, you have to give it your full focus so you catch all the minute details. Itโ€™s like working the crime scene yourself. The documentary is not for the faint hearted. It shows the original CCTV footage of Brian Wells death!

The documentary includes interviews with people that worked on the cases, suspects and the family and friend of Brian Wells, which gives it a personal touch and makes it very attractive and fascinating to watch. It creates new questions in the viewers mind: Was Brian victim or perpetrator? Was the detonation an accident, murder or even suicide? And who is Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong and what does this woman have to do with all of this?

Trey Borzillieri, director and narrator of the documentary, shows his quite intense research for this documentary which ended in a deeper relationship with one of the suspects.

Evil genius is fascinating to watch, it grabs you and takes you through all Episodes, leaving you wanting more. A must watch for true crime lovers!

Gripping read - kept me guessing
This is one of the best books I have read and I have read a lot. I was gripped from the very start and it was good going back and forward from past to present as the full story starts to come together.
I read a lot of crime books and can usually guess the perpetrator and the motive usually quite quickly but this book had me guessing. When Alicia and Theo's story merge and everything falls into place this was something I could never have guessed. It all made sense and you kind of say 'oh yeah'. When I got to this part of the book I had to finish this. I couldn't put it down all the way through. I finished it in 2 days.
I started to feel for Theo. Alicia's silence was frustrating me and I was just the reader. The things happening in his personal life were awful and I wanted to tell him what do as he was on a bad path. But it is surprising hoe your feelings for a character can change so quickly. This happened with a few characters but mainly Theo.
Anyone who reads and enjoys crime books should definitely give this book a read. It is a different type of crime book.
The book exceeded all expectations based on the blurb.
I would read other books from Alex Michaelides.

This does what it does fine enough but has been essentially rendered obsolete by even the weakest entry of the ๐˜•๐˜ข๐˜ฌ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜Ž๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ trilogy (2 1/2, btw). Surprisingly I think this works better as a crime film than a full-on comedy; it's just so damn atmospheric what with the fun-as-hell (very) 80s synth soundtrack, intriguing mystery, kicky cinematography and all - qualities that all the best crime thrillers of the era have. But the comedy is shockingly inconsistent, you'd think having Chase as essentially a mile-a-minute quip machine for his signature dry smugness would be shoe-in but the jokes work at about a 40/60 hit-to-miss ratio. Maybe a generous 50/50? And there's a fine line between deadpan and downright dull - speaking as a usual Chase defender I find this performance leans to the latter a little too much, there's just not a lot to value in it over the countless other renditions of this character out there. Also it's an automatic crime that a movie in which Chevy Chase dons a metric ton of comical disguises and fake identities actively chooses not to lean into his legendary physical comedy. He only does like one funny dance and one paltry pratfall... what the fuck is up with that? Somehow still a blast in what should be its mediocrity. Utter fluff, but it'll do.
