Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (2013)
2013 | Action, Animation, Family
Runs at about <0.2x the pace of the first, with the exact same breed of that formularized π˜™π˜’π˜΅π˜€π˜©π˜¦π˜΅ & 𝘊𝘭𝘒𝘯𝘬 style non-plot drivel I detest. But otherwise? Yeah it was cute enough to suffice. Still gets docked a half star based solely on the sickly oversweetened last half hour filled with monotonous genre tropes and atrocious, badly-aged family-friendly pop crap (anyone remember Cody Simpson lmfao). But the foodimal designs here are so fucking cute holy shit - and just speaking generally the thing is an energetic, luminous laser light show to look at which manages to not only distinct itself from the original; but also packs ceaseless creativity in practically every inch of every frame. Plus the animation that's used to do so, even looking at it today, is gobsmackingly beautiful. Add in that it's occasionally pretty damn funny (again, if not matching up to the rate of the first) and that these characters are impossible not to root for even if they're merely a shadow of their former selves and you've got yourself a really nice time. I've always liked the subversion and general respect given to the Sam Sparks character in this relationship and I'm glad to see it remains intact with this one. Shame we never got any more of these.

So I read my first book by this author back in July, Catching Him--a Netgalley read. I liked it but wasn't blown away. So I decided to give this a go, too.

Fawn is running down the street, listening to her music--strangely with her eyes closed?--and bumps literally into Levi sending them sprawling onto the floor. There's an instant attraction but both ignore it and trade a few insults before heading in opposite directions. Only it turns out Levi is moving in across the hall from Fawn.

Before Fawn realises it, she's in a relationship with Levi and they are a cute couple, though Fawn is a little dumb at times. Well, I thought she was a little dumb, Levi thought she was cute in her cluelessness.

I do think the author is very good at writing Alpha males, but they're guys who care about their women and make it obvious they want them. I did like that about Levi.

Fawn's mum and dad made me laugh, mainly her mum with some of her crazy comments like "get yourself knocked up so you don't lose him" and "when's the wedding?"

One again, I liked it but I wasn't in love with the storyline or the characters.

ORBIT is a Lunar Wolves Novella - it says so in the title. It is also the first book I have read in this series or by the author. I was told I wouldn't need to read the series to enjoy this book but I'm afraid I think that was wrong.

This is a short novella and, for me, you really didn't learn anything about the world or the characters so having some knowledge would have been helpful. Callum and Vaughan were a cute couple but also a paradox. On the one hand, they communicated nicely. Callum, in particular, helped Vaughan with his social anxiety. But then, on the other, neither of them talks when there's a problem, which I found odd, especially when it could be linked to said social anxiety.

The ending is quite abrupt. I'm guessing we will see more of them in future books but, as a novella, it's more of a meet-cute and not much more.

A good read but I would definitely recommend reading the series.

IT's cute and fun, steamy and smexy!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Danny's ex left a box of toys. Danny isn't quite sure what to do with them, so he approaches said ex's best friend to see if he knows who they might belong to. Will just wants a quiet night, but spending time with Danny will do. Then Danny springs his dilemma on him and Will makes his mind up to help Danny.

What I did not like about this book was that it was short! Short on page space: only 90 odd pages and short on time: whole book takes place over couple days.

What I loved about this was it was short! Contradictory, I know! I loved that we get this short burst, because I really don't think it would've worked as a longer book. But I still didn't like that it was short, as I wanted more of Danny and Will!

It's cute, it's funny, it's steamy and smexy but it carries some emotion too. Especially for Danny finding out about his ex and about said ex was doing. Will was shocked by his so called best friend!

A thoroughly enjoyable 4 star read.

I started reading this book just a week ago and I can honestly say that this book has changed my mind about the traveling circus, i haven't had much joys with reading about circus's because they are predictable but with this book every page and every word is like opening a sweet you're grandparents give you for being so cute. But this book also sends me into a place where i can imagen my own world and with that i can travel through my mind into a world i created and into a world that is better than the last.

Pixar do it again!
A very good and enjoyable film that all ages will love. The story sounded odd at first but it's a very cute film. It has a great 10 minute opening which is nearly silent and quite sad for a Pixar film. Once we get to the old guy getting up out of bed and setting off to fulfill a promise it actually becomes quite funny in places. Definitely one all ages will love. Once again the level of detail in the animation is amazing, they seem to set new levels with each new film!
