Hmm...

I was up until 2am finishing this

I think Alex's view of life was rather warped for the first 66% of this book. Everyone is an employee, not someone he's known for years and are really his closest friends. I guess that fame can change you but a lot of the time at the beginning, I wasn't really liking Alex so much.

He did grow on me though and by the 80% mark I was crying like a baby. Everything seemed to happen all at once then but it was Alex after rehab that had my heart melting more, especially when he saw Indigo with the baby. So cute!

I think this is the biggest age gap I've ever read in a book (22 yrs) but strangely it didn't bother me at all. Cooper was just so mature for his age, it was on a very rare occurrence that he'd do or say something that made him seem in his 20's. And Tom was pretty cool, too. Together they were just a cute couple.

The whole Architecture thing was really interesting too. It's not something I'd have thought would interest me but reading about the drawing of buildings and all the details that were needed...it was quite fascinating.

I'd definitely be interested in the rest of the series.

"Still with the Italians, I’m sorry! With many things in life you’re there because there’s a cute girl around that you want to go out with and you end up finding magic. You end up not caring about the girl but wanting to stay there because of what you found. That happened with Amarcord to me. I really thought a lot about creating images and the connection that cinema had with theatre in a way. That film feels a little bit like theatre. I lived all my life watching theatre and it’s when I found the connection with what I was watching and could do in my life."

"Okay, this might be really cheesy. I can’t stop thinking about The Sandlot. I have a thing for retro movies. I mean, I know it’s not retro for a lot of people, but for me it is because, obviously, my age. The Sandlot is one of my favorite movies because of the storyline and because the characters are so young. It was just so interesting and so cool to see young actors give such big personalities to these characters. It was something that just stuck with me. I remember the lead guy [Tom Guiry] being really cute and just thinking that he was adorable."
