"This has always been my favorite Godard film. The first time I watched it, I was heartbroken because I thought my DVD was defective: the sound kept cutting out. In researching further I learned I was the fool—Godard was playing with sound design. It was in a way I had never heard before. His use of long camera pans with text explaining what our heroes think but would never say is absolutely brilliant. Between Anna Karina, her red tights, and the celebration of American musicals, it manages to sum up all my favorite things."

Another B-movie straight to DVD
Another B-movie, straight to DVD space horror that had the chance to be truly terrifying but ended up falling flat on its arse. A group of astronauts are winding up their last few days on the red planet as they wait for the next team to arrive.

When one of them makes a scientific discovery in the form of a new strain of bacteria they head out to claim it for themselves putting the entire crew in danger. There is nothing unique here that hasn’t already been tried before if this was to succeed at all then the execution had to be better.

Visually it ticks all the right boxes with set design and location being winning points. It’s the lack of originality that is the most frustrating. The cast is not given any credible dialogue and it’s as dry and barren as the planet that they are standing on.

Step back and look at it for what it is and you’ve got zombies in space. The acting is run of the mill and no one, in particular, stands out as personality cliches run thick. If the crew of the Nostromo had a reserve team this lot would fit the bill perfectly.

classics never die, unlike graboids
I first saw this via those discs you get when you used to first buy a DVD player, a handful of B movies and this hidden gem, this film convinced me to give B movies a second chance, Tremors is made up of a small cast of good actors, it takes place in the middle of a desert in a nowhere town, two guys going about their business until something starts killing people, what follows is B movie gold, well worth a watch.

Good UK Gangster Film
A very good low budget crime drama. Set in Liverpool it shows the criminal underworld as the local gangsters try to out do each other and make a name for themselves. Very brutally violent at times, this is a good little known film that seemed to go straight to DVD. Most of the cast will be familiar to UK audiences, some of which who do very well here with their performances. The story is good and keeps you guessing who will double cross who in the name of greed. Kinda like an English version of Goodfellas crossed with Heat!
