Merissa (13303 KP) rated The Problem (Single Dad Support Group #1) in Books

The Problem (Single Dad Support Group #1) by Piper Scott
The Problem is the first book in the Single Dad Support Group series, and we start of with Laurence and Alex. Laurence is a member of the group, dad to sixteen-year-old Matthew. Alex is friends with one of the members, but doesn't know much about it INCLUDING the members. Alex and Laurence meet at an exhibition showing Alex's work. Sparks fly, and colours light up Alex's world.
I loved this foray into an Omegaverse different from others I have read. There was no shifting, no wolves, just Alphas and Omegas. The explanation of Alex's synesthesia was done in a way that was helpful, without it seeming as just a piece of information! It formed part of the story, integral to Alex, and that was just perfect. His own realisation of what the colours meant was was of the best scenes for me.
This was hot and steamy, with a dash of Daddy kink; plenty of laughs; some heartbreak and confusion; and lots of hints about what and who will come in the next book. I can't wait. This was well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that I noticed. I thoroughly enjoyed every word, and I will be reading more in this series!

really rather cute!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Londyn takes a nanny job, while thinking what to do about her play writing. Since her 'boyfriend' stole the last play she wrote, she thinks she might give up. A summer out of town, looking after two little girls, might give her the clarity she needs. She just never expected to fall in love with the girls or their daddy. Callum is a museum curator and spends a lot of time away from his family. But the new nanny makes him see, really see, what that is doing to his girls. He just didn't see Londyn coming!
This was a really great, fun read. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
It's well told, with both Callum and Londyn having a say, in the third person. We get all of Londyn's stressing about her playwriting, and how much fun she wants the girls to have. We get all of Callum's fretting over his feelings for the nanny, and we get his dawning realisation that it might not just be infatuation.
I liked the marked differences between Londyn and Callum, it made me giggle in some places!
It's funny, it's witty, it's sexy and it's emotional. It has a little bit of everything! It's one of those books you just fall into, you know, and the book runs out before the afternoon does.
It's the first book I've read of Ms McNeil, and I look forward to reading more.
A very well deserved 4 stars

Merissa (13303 KP) rated My Professor Sweetheart (Sweetheart Escapes) in Books
Sep 18, 2023
MY PROFESSOR SWEETHEART is part of the multi-author Sweetheart Escapes series and can be read as a standalone.
Jamie and Andres are the main couple in this one, although there are other characters I now want stories for, including Hank and Avery! Guess I'll be searching the author's backlist for those and keeping my fingers crossed.
Anyway, back to this one. Jamie is the student, so close to graduating, and Andres is the professor. They both sign up for the auction but the attraction is already off the charts when they finally meet at the resort. The Daddy/boy aspect of this was so good. Jamie wanted to learn all he could, and Andres was happy to help. It was done in a steamy sweet way and made it a great read.
Part of what I enjoyed so much is we see them on their weekend but also in 'real life' doing what they have to, to hide what they are to each other. And breaking each other's hearts before they figure out what to do. It really gave the story some depth for me, instead of it being insta-love. Well, it still was, but then we had the rest of the story to help build it up.
A brilliant story that I have no hesitation in HIGHLY recommending.

Loved this!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is the first in a new series between this pair of authors, and by gosh, it's so good!
Gabai wasn't too impressive when he first meets Asher, but the big bear Daddy does redeem himself once he gets his head out his ass and realise just what Asher needs, not what Gabai does.
Asher's pain is so deep, you can almost taste it. Once we get the full story about why Ash (and I loved that Gabai shortened his name, but no one else could get away with that!) you can understand why he doesn't like to be touched, and just why he hates being called boy.
The way Gabai deals with the perpetrator of the damage to the club shows how much he cares about the Littles in his club, even if he can't be their chief hugger now Ash is about.
I loved that, once he gets Ash, Gabai lets Ash set the pace to bring his little out once more. The little steps are important, they start a big journey, and Ash and Gabai have a wonderful start to that journey now.
Lots of characters who need stories, there is bit at the end of this one for the next story, but I'm not sure if I put things together right so we'll wait, very impatiently, for the next book!
5 full and shiny stars

Merissa (13303 KP) rated Hanging with Daddy (Pride Pet Play 2023) in Books
Jun 12, 2023
HANGING WITH DADDY is part of the Pride Pet Play 2023 multi-author series and, to my delight, we return to a character already known - Austin. If you have read A Little Christmas: Terrence then you will know Austin was the one who pushed Warner to help Terrence, cheering them on from the sidelines. Well, now it's his turn and Oh. My. Word!!!
Austin and Gaines are just a perfect couple. Austin is open-minded enough to try things he's never considered before. In this case, being a handler for a very flexible Koala. The scenes with both of them are HOT! The scenes where it's just one give a greater insight into their feelings and emotions, as well as moving the story along. I love Warner and Terrence making an appearance and how Terrence is being drawn into their friendship group. But there's one in that group that I now need a story for - Matty!
I am thoroughly enjoying the Pet Play series and have read some very different stories with different animals. I love the dogs and cats but I have to admit, this koala was so cute! The characteristics, the costumes; I love it all.
No matter how many books I read by this author, I always want more! HIGHLY recommended by me.

Merissa (13303 KP) rated Nursing the Alpha in Books
Sep 9, 2025
NURSING THE ALPHA is a standalone story that I really hope expands into a series. It tells the story of Flynn, who was a surrogate for friends, but they decided they wanted a clean break from him so there wouldn't be mixed feelings. Which was great (!) but left him lactating, which most alphas dislike. So he helped out as a wet nurse for premature babies. He meets Seth one night as he's on his way home, literally falling into his lap. He has a little leakage though, and although one alpha turns away in disgust, Seth steps up and rescues him. Seth thinks Flynn is sweet and innocent. Little does he know...
Oh, but I loved this story. It is both sweet and smutty, innocent and filthy, and I am here for it! The reactions on both sides to certain situations were spot on and completely believable. I loved how Flynn's freaky side came out to play, and how he made Seth pay for lying to him. But most of all, I loved how they were together. So hot and it was caring, even when they indulged in primal play.
I love this author's Daddy books, and now it seems as though I love her omegaverse too! Loved every yummy moment and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.
