Rollercoaster ride
A rollercoaster through time and spirit!
This glorious piece of fiction isn't so much a flowing, chronological novel as it is a series of stories with little life lessons and morals throughout.. Witty and dark with an easygoing take on a heavy spiritual topic akin to Tom Robbins or Vonnegut, this is a must-read both for the rollercoaster ride of adventure but also for some thought-provoking spiritual qualms.

Great serial killer novel! Gotta love The Crazies!
This was a difficult book to put down. It has a great mix of features that makes an intense story; deep character development, detailed world building (but not too detailed because, you know, imagination), interesting backstories, mysteries, horror, a little (very little) humor, psychologically thrilling and it sticks with you for a time after the last page. This is the type of novel to read when you are sick of the typical happy-go-lucky, boy-meets-girl romance and you're looking for something dark but not too dark. On a darkness scale between Christian Grey and Black Sabbath, I'd give this a solid M. Night Shyamalan. (Whatever that means)

Star Wars parodies are fun (0 more)
Lots of off color humor as usual (0 more)
If you enjoy Family Guy in general, you will find their parodies or random movie references to be the funniest in general.

The third in their series of parodies, It's a Trap gives the audience exactly what they are expecting if you have seen Blue Harvest and Something, Something, Something, Dark Side, but still a fresh set of laughs.

Mostly goofy, oddball stuff, but enough to recommend.

So much fun
I thought this movie was going to be more "corny", but start to finish this one was just a fun ride. There were some dark parts but they were highly overshadowed by the humor and action. The acting and characters were great and the cinematography/effects were too. It had a few good surprises and the story unfolded beautifully. This one is definitely a good "family movie night" kind of movie. Worth a watch!

Deathnote, a Netflix original. I would recommend however it was not what I had expected. I wanted the demon to be more scary and the ending was anticlimactic. Was not pleased with that. I liked the dark humor in it and the slight plot twist in the end. There wasn't much gore at all and that was disappointing to me. But if you're looking to get into the horror scene this is a great starter film!

Best story of the season boxset for dalek story this one is very dark in tone dealing In death and canballlism but it works the humor it gives davros a chance to shine make more of the villain of the piece font get wrong dakeks are still there doing what they do best but this more about davros and less about them. Brilliant script great cast great direction everything about it perfect

Happy Death Day (2017)
Happy Death Day (2017)
2017 | Horror, Mystery, Thriller
Other films have tried to do the time loop plot, most successful was if course Groundhogs Day, which gets a pretty cute shout out in this film, but those other films did not have the cleverness of this film. By taking a horror plotline and injecting some dark humor and murder mystery, Happy Death Day becomes a refreshing, darkly comic, at times truly suspenseful horror film. The repeated day is done each new reset with a slightly different visual take, enough differences to keep it from being boring. The reveal of the killer was extremely shocking, at least to this reviewer. If you enjoy dark comedy and horror in the same movie I highly recommend this film

Depressing situations
humor is too dark
Everyone loves this show, except me.
I found that after watching an episode I wanted to curl up into a ball and just hug my wife and family and be thankful it's not me. But it kept leaving me depressed after watching it. I might just be too sensitive to the emotional turmoil of it. managed to get 3/4 of the way through the season, and had to stop... I'm happier for it.

"I think I was graduating from college, yeah. It was just so fresh and amazing, and the storytelling, you know, changed cinema forever. I just loved it. And it brought back John Travolta. Every character was incredible, and I loved its really dark sense of humor. Like, literally some of the hardest laughing I’ve ever done in my life was when John Travolta accidentally blows the head off that guy. [laughs] Making that funny is such a feat. The comic sensibility of Quentin Tarantino never ceases to amaze me."
