as with season 1 - This show doesn't need a long review - it's too perfect. Too funny. Too clever. the chemistry between James Spader and William Shatner as Alan and Denny respectively draws you in and makes you wish they were your buddies, that you could hang out with them on the penthouse office balcony, talking philosophically about life with a cigar in one hand and a fine scotch whiskey in the other. The cast is superb and the writing brilliant...Thank you David E Kelly et al.

Slow and a little tedious

This psychological thriller began with tinges of a David Lynch film, and finished with an inconclusive, fluffy conclusion. The lack of connected thoughts and plot made it difficult to concentrate - it makes some sense as it is supposed to be a reflection of the protagonist's mental state - however it was not well executed.

It's starting to get a little predictable with the abusive spouse story - this kind of storyline definitely needs a revamp. The performance was fine but the thriller was a little too drab.

"Most people remember David Lean for his big-scale epics, like Doctor Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia, or The Bridge on the River Kwai. But here he is at his most precise and poetic. Both movies are epics of the spirit, and both are plagued by grand, utterly magical moments and settings; whether showing Oliver’s mother straining and in pain, by intercutting with a flexing branch of thorns, or by lovingly lingering on Miss Havisham’s decaying splendor, Lean understand the need for hyperbole in order to manage the larger-than-life Dickensian archetypes. Some of the passages in both films skate the fine line between poetry and horror."

I saw this movie around two weeks ago, and haven't been really able to decide on a number rating. I went between a 10, then an 8, but now I've settled on 9.
I haven't read the book, so I'm not sure how much the story was embellished and/or changed, but it was overall, an entertaining 'true story'. I know Spike Lee was drawing heavy parallels to today, which, is fine, but I think everyone would have still gotten the point without the last 5-10 minutes of news footage.
Adam Driver and John David Washington were a good team, and their work together was kind of what made the movie. The last scene on the phone was the best part of the movie.
