Maine style Dracula
2nd book from the great man based around vampires. Good story with decent characters and King already has found the ease of a seasoned writer as you are hooked very early on. As usual the book is better than the movie/TV series although that's worth a watch as it has David Soul (70's heart throb from Starsky & Hutch)as one of the leads.

"Five volumes of sheer bliss. There’s almost nothing fiction can offer that isn’t in this book: an 18th Century, post-modern, Zen, worldly, otherworldly, gorgeous, funny, sorrowful, gripping, saga of a large, staggeringly wealthy Qin Dynasty family. Stunningly well translated, (the first three volumes by David Hawkes, the final two by John Minford, Hawkes’ son-in-law). It takes a while (or it did me) to keep the many, many characters straight, but it’s definitely worth the trouble."

I have read several books by David Jason either writing as himself or as Delboy, and while this is not the best of the bunch it does make for an entertaining read. Its basically a book of mantras and lessons that have helped David Jason to become one of the most recognised actors still alive today. Its full of funny anecdotes and heart warming stories. It also is a good guide book for anyone wanting to have a career in entertainment, as it informs you of the up's and down's, the high's and low's of making it to the top. Well worth a read and definitely an insightful book.

Lindsay (1700 KP) rated Three Days to Forever (Mac Faraday Mystery, #9) in Books

Feb 15, 2018 (Updated Apr 9, 2019)
The author has you guessing from beginning to end. It's action packed along with a mystery through out. Laura Carr gives you what you look for in a mystery along with a little romance.

What up with all the Navy and military doing though out the book? Mac and Archie had been dealt with getting ready for their wedding. They're a family secret and what could that be?

Somehow Mac Faraday and David and Cameron are targeted along with Archie mother. There's a killer on the loose and they want something Mac Faraday has.

The terrorists wants to claim on a few members. They attempt to kidnap a woman. There seems to have a mishap at every turn. Will Murphy and the navy be heroes? This is a book is worth reading and getting the other books in the series would be worth buying. If you enjoy mystery or crime and detective books. This may be your cup of tea.

Somehow it took me a full twenty years after release to see this movie. While David Spade has done some other voice over work of quality, this takes the cake. John Goodman is always a favorite of mine and the voice of Patrick Warburton adds another layer of hilarity in the role of Kronk.

There was a time in my life when I didn't really see much in the way of Disney releases as my focus was elsewhere. I do regret not seeing this sooner. It was a great story with wonderful voice acting and classic Disney imagination and imagery. Definitely worth seeing at any age.
