“Maybe, we can go get lost tonight. At least we know that we gave it a try. So why don’t we go out and get a drink in the West End? Smoke a cigarette and talk sh*t about exes. Take a couple of shots and see where the night ends. Stop pretending that we’re just friends.” – lyrics
‘Just Friends’ tells an interesting tale of two friends, a guy, and a girl. Apparently, the guy doesn’t want to be in the friend zone and wants to be more than just a friend to the woman he adores.
Later, he reminds her that one day in the back of a taxi she wanted to kiss him. But due to their friendship, she didn’t.
‘Just Friends’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and danceable instrumentation scented with an electro-pop fragrance.
After being discovered on YouTube, Virginia to Vegas signed to Wax Records in 2013. Since then, he has received critical acclaim and several platinum certifications.
In 2018, he expanded his reach internationally, co-writing the single “IDWK” with blackbear and DVBBS.

This book made me so ANGRY. I read it in a flurry of outrage in less than 24 hours because I just.could.not.stop.
It's the very near future, and the religious right has (seemingly) won in the United States. Women no longer hold jobs, are no longer allowed to read or write, and are limited to speaking 100 words per day, enforced by an electric-shock "bracelet" counter, their voices effectively silenced, their rights taken away. A religious zealot is pulling the strings of the puppet-President. School textbooks are replaced with religious tomes. The LGBTQ community is forced into prison/work camps for "conversion" to the "normal" way (read: man/woman). Engage in premarital or extramarital sex? Work camp in the Black Hills of South Dakota for the rest of your life, with a counter on your wrist set to ZERO. You may think "none of this would ever happen!" .....wouldn't it, though? Consider the current political climate and treatment of women, folks. Maybe it's not that far off the mark.
“Whose fault do you think it was?” he said. I stood in my kitchen, wanting to explain, careful not to, while he told me we’d marched one too many times, written one too many letters, screamed one too many words. “You women. You need to be taught a lesson.”
There will be the inevitable comparisons to The Handmaid's Tale, of course. I personally could not slog my way through The Handmaid's Tale,, so I can't speak to those comparisons. I can only tell you that if you aren't outraged by the very IDEA that this could happen, there may be something wrong with you.
I did feel like the ending was slightly rushed, but not to the point that it took away from the rest of the story. It was a satisfying, hopeful ending.

Ash ( Hive Trilogy book 1)
By Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Are you an Ash?
*Increased stamina
*Lack of appetite
*Anger outbursts
*Insatiable thirst
*Beauty & Strength
*Male
Call the hotline if these symptoms come on suddenly!
Turns out Charlie Bennet was all of those things except the last. Don’t let the name fool you, Charlie was all woman and she wanted nothing to do with the ash … until the day she found out she was one.
It all started when infected bats bit a small group of humans and created what are now called vampires. Then, the male vampires knocked up some female humans and the result was a gorgeous race of all male ash. Superhuman freaks that had looks to kill.
Charlie is the first female ash, aka unicorn of the Hive – the gated compound in Portland that the humans have designated to isolate vampires and ash from society.
Problem? The Hive is full and only a select few will be allowed to live there. To live at all, really. If Charlie wants to earn the right to become a citizen of the Hive, she will have to survive the culling – a series of fights to the death. And guess what? Just because she’s a girl doesn’t mean she’ll get special treatment.
Good thing there’s Ryder, the mysterious lead ash enforcer, who seems to always have her back. But when secrets bubble to the surface, it will take more than one guy to save her.
I really liked this! It was a different take on vampires and their origins and I thought it was so clever. The characters were likeable and you had that will they won’t they attraction between the main characters. If I had one thing that slightly drove me crazy was being told how hot it sexy they were every 4 or so pages yes we get that they are beautiful, sexy and hot guys please stop telling me 😂. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing where they take this storyline.

I really enjoyed it, couldn't put it down and it has good plot lines that make you NEED to know whats next. You really start to root for most characters and loathe the others. Theres plenty of twists that are completely unexpected, which in some cases you can see a twist coming a mile off so thats a plus.
The reason I put that this contains spoilers is because of how I felt at the end, resulting in my rating only being a 7.
The ending is frustrating!!! I know some writers write their books in sequences (Rosie Goodwin: Days of the week, Annie Murray: Birmingham, Narrowboat Girl etc) so when i reached the ending (AT 1AM BECAUSE I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN) I assumed it had a sequel. IT DOESNT. So many questions, so many plot lines left unfulfilled. For example, Bella was in love with her step son Edward but he is now married and his father dead. The new Lady Mableton wants to adopt Bellas daughter after discovering she cannot have children and wants an heir to the mableton estate, she will stop at nothing to get this child. Kitty tries her hardest to get hold of Bella after she ran off to be with a man she was sold to when she was younger whom she thought was awful (dont even get me started) you never find out if Bella gets contacted!! Her daughter is left with her mother who says she will not let Lady Mableton have her granddaughter under no circumstances. THATS THE END OF THE BLUMMIN BOOK?!! How do they stop this woman from getting the child? Does bella and her beau come back and save the day? Does Edward put a stop to it? Also will Bellas mother (who was known to not be a very nice woman) give the child over at a price, since it would be of character?
DILLY COURT - PLEASE WRITE A SEQUEL AAARGHHH.

Laura Doe (1350 KP) rated The Cancer Ladies' Running Club in Books

We follow Keira as she is getting a diagnosis of breast cancer, after always believing that she doesn’t get ill. We go with her as she battles her cancer as well as battling through the trials of every day life: being a mum, being a wife and owning a business. I really felt for her when things started to go wrong in different aspects of her life and felt her frustration when she felt that people weren’t being supportive or had started treating her differently.
Keira ends up speaking to a woman outside the hospital, who becomes one of her rocks throughout her treatment. Tamsin just happened to come along at exactly the right time for Keira, and together, along with two other women they meet along the way (Amma and Sian) they create the Cancer Ladies’ Running Club. The women go through so much together, all either going through treatment at the same time or having just finished treatment. They talk about how people have changed towards them and have their own personal rants about what is going on in their lives whilst all supporting each other.
I honestly didn’t want to put this book down and have loved every word of it. A definite 5 star from me!
