Night of the Living Dead- i love this film, such a classic. Its a fantasic phenomenal movie, about survival, surving, the living dead and survival of the finest. Plus you have George A. Ramero directing it. He is missed, he was such a phenomenal and excellent director.

The plot: The story follows seven people who are trapped in a rural farmhouse in western Pennsylvania, which is under assault by an enlargening group of cannibalistic, undead corpses.

The film is regarded as one of the launching pads for the modern zombie movie, and thanks to George we have all of these zombie tv shows and movies today, if it wasnt for him, we wouldn't have all of these zombies tv shows and movies today.

In 2001, the film was ranked No. 93 by the American Film Institute on their AFI's 100 Years ... 100 Thrills list, a list of America's most heart-pounding movies. The zombies in the picture were also a candidate for AFI's AFI's 100 Years ... 100 Heroes & Villains, in the villains category, but failed to make the official list. The Chicago Film Critics Association named it the 5th scariest film ever made. The film also ranked No. 9 on Bravo's The 100 Scariest Movie Moments.

Many critics of this movie find this movie very groundbreaking for its time due to its having a black protagonist.

Night of the Living Dead entered the public domain in the United States because the original theatrical distributor, the Walter Reade Organization, neglected to place a copyright indication on the prints.

Like I said before its a excellent and phenomenal movie.

Ross (3284 KP) rated Marcella - Season 2 in TV

Apr 18, 2018
Marcella - Season 2
Marcella - Season 2
2018 | Crime, Mystery
As gripping as series 1
The second series of Marcella sees the slightly manic, depressed, blackout-prone detective investigate the appearance of a child's dead body in the walls of a house being renovated. Following further child abductions or bodies and strange aspects of their killings, the case starts to look like something occult.
The plot includes many more characters and twists and turns than series 1 - many characters and their lives are introduced with tenuous connections to the plot which make you think they could be involved.
The series was gripping throughout and headed to a satisfying conclusion, though with a very unusual twist at the end.

"Rock Lobster' was the first song I heard from it, I think from John Peel. I didn't listen to the record for a long time because the club I went to in Sheffield, an alternative indie club called The Limit, always played either 'Rock Lobster' or 'Planet Claire' every single night for three years that I went there. You would hear that, 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' by Bauhaus, 'Shack Up' by A Certain Ratio, 'She Sells Sanctuary' by The Cult, 'This Is The Day' by The The... nowadays the guy could have been a Spotify playlist, he hardly ever deviated and God knows why he turned up and put them on by hand, but he did. That was the only place to go if you were considered a bit of a weirdo."

Blackmailing a Star
It’s August 1939, and silent film actress Marion Davies has been receiving poison pen letters from someone calling himself Argus. The letters threaten to reveal something from Marion’s past, something that could ruin her current relationship with William Randolph Hurst. When she turns to Lillian Frost and Edith Head for help, Edith can’t help but think there is more to the situation than there first appears to be. Then a dead body turns up. Can Lillian and Edith figure out what is going on?

There is so much to praise in this book. The plot is strong and always keeps us engaged. It does get a little convoluted as we reach the climax, but as long as you pay attention, you’ll follow what is happening. Real people and fictional characters rub elbows seamlessly, and they all appear fully formed to us. I love watching for cameos. The news of the day impacts the character, and therefore us. Yet we also have talk about the films coming out during that time, which I enjoyed. This is more than a Hollywood mystery. If you enjoy historical mysteries, you need to read these books today.
