"Brad Bird is a triple badass. That’s all there is to it. I would have said Incredibles but I watched Giant more. It was so ground breaking with the mixed media. Great story, great characters, good heart, super smooth filmmaking AND Christopher McDonald is in it and I love him. Too bad they marketed a bunch of other movies that year. Good thing there’s life after death on DVD."

I struggled from the start with this. It wasn't grabbing me at all--maybe because politics bores me to death--and the fact that it was in third person when I've gotten so used to reading first, so when they got to the sex scene, I just gave up. I don't see much point in reading something like that if I'm not into the couple.

Love in the Time of Cholera made me feel as if I were walking next to the characters as they laughed, loved, lived and died in a world filled with spirits. Márquez raised my consciousness by taking me gently into other realms."
