Witch’s Storm ( The Bone Coven Chronicles #2)
By Jenna Wolfhart
⭐️⭐️
As a new Enforcer for the Bone Coven, I protect humans from supernatural assaults with the help of my sexy half-warlock, half-vampire partner. But when my latest investigation reveals a string of gruesome mage deaths, it seems there's a serial killer targeting us instead of them.
To make matters worse, demons immune to my coven's spells are now prowling the city streets hunting for prey. Their strength is growing, and they have their sights set on destroying the veil that protects our realm from theirs.
There's only one way to stop the killer and banish the demons once and for all. I must finally give into the dark magic that simmers deep within me, threatening to destroy my soul.
But will the world survive if I do?
This was not a book I enjoyed and I really hate giving 1 stars. It was badly written in place and repetitive the tension between the two main characters was strange. I just couldn’t get on with it. The characters and storyline became annoying. And what the hell is slayervill

Candidate ( The Black Mage book 3)
By Rachel E. Carter
Welcome to the Candidacy. Where dreams go to die.
Twenty-year-old Ryiah is a black mage of Combat, but she's not the Black Mage. Yet. She's had her eyes on the legendary robe for as long as she can remember, and in just one year, she will have a chance at her country's prestigious--and only--tourney for war mages... Too bad she is going up against a certain prince--the one person she has yet to beat.
The Candidacy finally arrives and a winner is robed, but something dark is lurking in her kingdom's midst. Rival nations are closing in, and it's time to make an alliance.
Unfortunately for Ryiah, that's only the beginning. The worst enemy resides in the palace.
Another really good instalment to this series. It goes a little deeper reveals some Secrets and we see some deaths and 2 weddings. But will the last one last after the latest unveiling of secrets? Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out in book 4. Definitely recommend!

I liked Mania by Lionel Shriver. It takes equality to an extreme, where everyone is treated the same -regardless of their IQ. So far, so good. No-one can be called stupid, less-than, clever or intelligent. Children report their parents for using the ‘S’ word, and are expelled from school if they use it themselves.
Pearson, the lead character, endangers her job because of her opinions, and her best friend Emory, a radio presenter, quickly learns what she needs to say to keep herself.
This is faintly ridiculous, I will admit. Especially when exams are banned and anyone can become a doctor - resulting in the near deaths of countless patients because of incompetence.
Shriver has taken the idea of “wokeness” (I really hate this word - being a decent person has been made into something awful) and made it as extreme as you can possibly make it! It’s ridiculous, but why not! There are a lot of things that we thought were extreme in the past, and someone went there. This book highlights that possibility.
Mania made me think about what the world would look like if those with extreme views were given free reign.
Very thought provoking!

What da the hell are you??
This movie is a mess! It doesn't know what it is which is unfortunate as it could have been really good - if it wasn't a predator film!!...let's start with what's good. It looks excellent and the action sequences are done well. The acting and comedy are also good BUT there in lies its downfall. This film is a comedy at heart and genuinely made me laugh a few times but the tone is wrong. This is a predator film! It's about massive alien hunters coming to kill us not ridiculous 'predator dogs' and 'your mumma' jokes. Now yes the original had the occasional 'pussy' joke BUT that was rare and was to show the connection between this 'family' of soldiers which then makes their eventual deaths more impactful. Here the jokes don't let up and what's annoying is (as I said) they're quite funny they just doesn't suit the tone of whst this film should be AND what a predator film should be. Finally this film has one of the worst final scenes and finally dialogue lines in cinema history - just awful!! Watch this for for a few laughs but DO NOT expect a predator film.
