Rebecca Robbins has returned to her small home town just long enough to sell her mother's roller rink. But when the town handy man is found murdered in the women's bathroom, she realizes she needs to get his murder solved quickly since no one is interested in it. A typical cozy series debut, but I really enjoyed the characters and found the story fun.

Ruby Case touches a young man and brings him back to life. As her little town reacts, she and her pastor uncover a very troubled history for the area. What does it all mean?

While not my normal genre, and I was captivated by this story and the characters. It was a well written debut novel, and I can't wait to see where the author goes next.

New immigrant Molly Murphy has decided to take on a job as a private investigator. Somehow, she talks Riley into mentoring her. However, when he is murdered, Molly is on her own trying to find out what happened to him. Another great visit to 1901 New York, this one introduces more series regular characters and is stronger than the debut in the series.

Partying in the modern age
Andrew W K took some time out of music to become a motivational speaker and learn some new tricks.
This has a grand epic sound compared to his debut album (I Get Wet).
Still sounds like a party but has elements from 70s prog rock (without the infamous solos) and the pseudo spiritual influence is thankfully not religious.
The songs are interspersed with a few short motivational speeches which mainly serve as positive self help interludes.

When it's on form, Deadpool 2 is stronger than the original and some of its laughs are considerably funnier. But it feels a tad too muddled in places. It's as if the film has so much it wants to do that it loses some focus and doesn't quite end up being as satisfying as the debut. Still a great time though and this does have perhaps the greatest mid-credits sequence ever seen in a movie.

I thought this book was really cleverly written. It is a challenging read - challenging because it looks things in the eye which most of us shy away from. It breaks down preconceived ideas, prejudice and assumptions.

It is grim at times, sad, heartbreaking but ultimately uplifting. I thought the characterisation was amazing. The narrative style skillfully portrays a clever woman trapped inside the body of somebody who has limited ability to communicate.

The love story was movingly beautiful but gritty and not over sentimental.

Then she continued doing things that explored lots of different other areas, with the Greenland Choir and with sounds made with the mouth. Once in awhile you see this amazing total artist, where you go, This person thinks about the stage, the shows, the costumes, the record covers, and the music, and it’s all part of a total thing."
