The Gift That Keeps On Giving
The Gift- is a unique psychological horror film directed by Joel Edgerton. This is Joel's directoral debut and he did a excellent job. Joel also produced it, wrote it and acted in it. I love the psychological espect of this film, and also the twist and turns throught it until the very end of the film.

The plot: When married couple Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall) unexpectedly encounter Gordo (Joel Edgerton), an acquaintance from Simon's past, little do they know that their perfect lives will be thrown into a terrifying tailspin. At first, Simon doesn't recognize Gordo, but after a troubling series of uninvited encounters and mysterious gifts, a horrifying secret emerges. As Robyn learns what really happened between Simon and Gordo, she begins to question how well she knows her spouse.

The Gift is a excellent psychological horror film with twist and turns throught it.

"I used to love the Sugarcubes, and then her debut album came out and I thought it was alright, I was going for different things and locked into Suede so wasn't really receptive to it. Then she gradually filtered through to me. Homogenic won out over Vespertine because of a few songs, like 'Jóga'. It's so beautiful, so atmospheric. There are few people that I actually listen to and am not a little disappointed by, or think I could do that. With her, it's, 'Woah.' She's one of those people who make music that I actually marvel at, I really do. She's incredibly talented. For me she's one of the few modern artists who are actually up there with the all-time greats. The music industry has to say that all these people are comparable to so and so, but she really is. Something like Biophilia suits her and suits her music. The music is intelligent for a start, but that really suits her sense of vision."

The biggest weakness of this book in some ways is also it's biggest strength, and that is the lack of explanation. This book does not lead you by the hand, but instead expects you to pick things up as you go along. No info-dumping found bound within these pages! At the start I found this very off putting, as the magic systems are so intriguing you want to know everything about them straight away, making it a bit of a slog to start with. Plus the fact the chapters alternate between three different view points, investment came hard. But boy it is worth persevering! As the magic systems are slowly revealed to you, you get more and more invested, and it definitely didn't follow the path I was expecting, especially in one aspect, which I won't spoil here. It is very hard to believe this is a debut novel. I'm excited to proceed with the series in due time!

Cannibal Savages
The Hills Have Eyes- is a disturbing psychological survival horror film. Wes did it again.

The plot: Wes Craven's cult classic about cannibalistic mountain folk, including the Carter family, who are on the trail of stranded vacationers in the arid Southwest Californian desert.

Craven based the film's script on the legend of cannibal Sawney Bean, which Craven viewed as illustrating how supposedly civilized people could become savage.

Wes Craven desired to make a non-horror film, following his directorial debut, The Last House on the Left (1972), because he saw the horror genre as constraining. However, he could not find producers interested in financing a project that did not feature bloody violence.

The film was initially given an X rating by the MPAA due to its graphic violence. Due to this, significant material was removed from Fred's death scene, the sequence where Mars and Pluto attack the trailer, and the last confrontation with Papa Jupiter.

Its a excellent movie.
