I won this book from a Goodreads Giveaway and I ended up really liking it, I don't usually go for the detective-murder mysteries but this was a good read. I like the idea that it happens to also be a series, not sure if I'll continue to read about this detective but I liked this book.

In Macallister's second novel, she takes on telling the story of Kate Warne, America's (and maybe the world's) first female detective, who walked into the Pinkerton's Detective Agency in 1856 and insisted Pinkerton take her on as an agent.
