Will definitely keep your attention.
So I'm a big fan of the Disney classic and was looking forward to this. Right from the start I believe they got Aladdin cast member wrong. Sorry he has a freaking 5 o clock shadow through the majority of the film and hairy ass arms. I thought part of the magic was that the love story between two people at most 20 years of age. So yea not a fan of the post puberty Aladdin. The man sings and acts great however.

Will Smith as the genie was a welcome surprise. He brought his own majic to the part so not to dishonor the legend Robin Williams. The film is great because it is based off of Disney's Aladdin so it is not a word for word live action and even includes two new songs that hold up to the originals.

Another cast member I thought was missing major personality was Jasmine's father. Sure he looked the part but he was not fat or jolly and had a droll type manor. Despite these few differences the movie entertained my son and I and almost felt like a new movie. Snore factor of 0/10 great.
PS I miss Gilbert Godfrey as the birds voice.

Loved it!
I really enjoyed this adaptation of the books. I was apprehensive at first. I'm always wary when books are adapted onto a screen, but this I really enjoyed watching. You can tell the director(s) have actually read the books themselves. There are numerous little references and Easter eggs throughout which only someone who has read the books will understand. It makes it extra rewarding when watching each episode. I highly reccomend reading the books with the series so you can really get a feel for the series.

Although I didn't rate the books highly, I rate this first season highly. I think they've done a really good job and if anything, it has made me thankful that I at least read the books before watching the series.

The atmosphere is one of my favourite parts. It's still managed to keep that steampunk-esque atmosphere. It's quirky with dark undertones. It reminds me of Pushing Daisies with its style.

There are some differences compared to the book but adaptations will never be spot on. And if anything, I think it makes it better. Even I was questioning what was going on for a few parts but then, at the end, it all clicked into place and made me excited for what season 2 will bring.
I will definitely be watching season two when it is released

When I read the description of this book I was immediately intrigued. A novel that takes place entirely from the perspective of a bee? That was certainly different from anything else I'd been reading lately (although there are sections of "Building Stories" that follow a bee). As such I couldn't help but check it out, and it turned out to be one of my favorite novels of the year so far. The story follows sanitation worker Flora 717 on her personal odyssey through the inner (and outer) workings of a colony of bees. Events push her from one faction to another, as she learns all about the inner workings of her hive and the agendas that different groups harbor inside it. As she does, she also learns more and more about herself. While many behaviors demonstrated are very clearly pure fiction, it is hard not to feel like one is actually learning something about the bees one sees around one's neighborhood all the same. It's also a novel about the effects of blind faith, learning to understand the differences of those around you, life under an oppressive regime, and the lengths one will go to for love. This is an absolutely beautiful book that will linger with you after it's done and have a marked change on the way you look at the insects that exist all around us.
