Just have to admire not only the technical craft on display, but the clear love for it by Serkis who has built a career involving some of the most iconic performances via motion capturing - here directing himself and an entire cast of elites through the same technology. I was looking forward to the darker answer to the similarly bland and daft Disney version but that one at least looked cute. This one - for whatever that means - is a full-bodied Netflix movie in all the worst ways: so inconsequential, so drab, so generic, home to tons of slimy CGI, and the voice acting is somehow as shallow as the 2016 one. That Benedict Cumberbatch tiger is supposed to look villainous but it looks hilariously silly.

"This film and the Criterion label are synonymous for me. Its beautiful cover art and immaculate menus seem to fit perfectly with its lead character; it’s almost as if Max Fischer himself were unsatisfied with the original vanilla DVD release from Disney and produced a handcrafted one instead. The actual film is a brilliant gem by Wes Anderson, and one that still shines brightly today. Just in the past year, we’ve seen a number of films that walk in the shadow of this one. Of course, it wouldn’t have inspired so many movies, music videos, commercials, and TV shows if it wasn’t such a distinctive effort. This is an undeniable cult classic, one that every Max Fischer on the planet has on their shelf."

"You really can’t beat The Apartment for finding laughs and heartache and triumph in the life of a morally compromised schnook of an insurance salesman. The great Billy Wilder was at one of his many career peaks here, finding unforgettable depth in Shirley MacLaine as elevator operator Fran Kubelik, and pulling a delicious Mitt Romneyesque-bad-guy performance out of an unlikely casting choice, the Disney leading man from Flubber, Fred MacMurray. The high-water mark in romantic comedy, this movie is so assured of its tone that even an attempted suicide is never far from a big laugh. It’s all wrapped up in giddy melancholy and — in a rare move — the Academy gave this comedy a whole bunch of Oscars too. Viva Wilder!"

I request this book on netgalley and was kindly sent a PDF version. Ohhhh my days! I love this story seriously I have fallen for it. Absolutely head over heels! If you are an Alice in wonderland fan or just a Disney fan you NEED this book in your life! It is completely different from Alice in wonderland and follows a different plot line and that in itself makes it refreshing and something new. New characters pop up through out which had me squealing in delight despite the fact I am 25 and should not be squealing but I did anyway! I really did love this book, and I feel like it's one I shall be re reading time and time again.

I was really ticked when The Clone Wars was taken off Netflix, but I understand that Disney's pulling all of their media from other streaming services. While I was going through my couple hundred movie, I randomly found the first season in my collection. Apparently, the DVD is now worth around $50.
It was always a massive bummer that we never really knew the details of what happened in the Clone Wars exactly from the films. This show fills in the gaps, not only showing Anakin and Obi-Wan's adventures, but several other jedi as well. It also introduced new characters, such as Ahsoka, and Ventress. The first season is solid and entertaining. I'm glad that it was kept in canon when Disney took over.
