It was fun. I did not chose to finish it, but that is because there was so much to it that I lost interest after playing it for many many days. I like the fact you can go around trying to cure all of whitechapel and how this effects the story slightly.
Barry Newman (204 KP) rated Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) in Movies
Feb 1, 2020
Got to be one of Tarantino's worst movies, 2 hrs 40 minutes and literally nothing happens till the last 10 minutes. It looks great and has a typically diverse QT soundtrack but is basically one big long rambling boring ego trip. There must have been at least 30 minutes of screen time consisting of Brad Pitt just driving around Hollywood . Pulp Fiction it most definitely isn't. Hugely overrated and almost certainly wouldn't have been made if it were anyone else but Tarantino.

Kaz (232 KP) rated 'Impression of a Dilemma' in Books

A fun Read
'Impression of A Dillemma' at first glance, looks as if it's going to be a crime based novel. However, it's much more than that.
This is a book which revolves around several diverse, quirky, but believable characters and their take on the same, shocking event. This book really gets into the minds of these characters and is very well written. I liked the almost poetic flow of the writing and the gentle humour.
In some novels which have multiple characters, in the end, they all become indistinguishable. However with this novel, everyone is completely different.
There was one character in particular, who at first, took some time for me to connect with. In reflection, I think this was good, because not many books include characters with such a quirky way of expressing themselves. So for this reason, I wouldn't say that this was a negative, but a change from having 'conventional' characters.
The pace of the novel was very good, at no point did it drag, I wanted to know what was going to happen next.
In fact, when I reached the end of the book, although I felt that it's ending was satisfactory, I couldn't help feeling like I wanted to know more about what the characters were going to do next. I'm not sure whether there will be any more books containing these characters or whether it's a stand alone novel, but I would be quite happy to read more about them, because they are so diverse and interesting.
I would definitely recommend this novel, if you like something quirky.

Sweet timekiller
I haven't read the book so went in with an open mind as it was recommended by Netflix.
Definitely an enjoyable watch but heavily predictable.
Watch if you're looking for a feelgood girly movie to kill some time.
Also personally a little conflicted as Lara Jean was fab but didn't believe Janel Parrish as her sister and although she's a great actor it felt as if she was cast just to raise the profile of the movie.

Rolling Stone's 65th greatest album of all time (489th in the 2020 list)
Superb collection of motown classics. Three full discs of some of the best soul and R&B songs ever made, plus the good old Christmas Gift album (which was also listed by Rolling Stone in its own right, so I listened to the same Xmas album twice in one week in June!). A diverse range of artists included, from Ben E King, Darlene Love, the Ronettes, Ike & Tina Turner and The Righteous Brothers.

BookInspector (124 KP) rated Eight Princesses and a Magic Mirror in Books
Sep 24, 2020
This book is a collection of eight stories, told by an unknown narrator. Every story is empowering and unique. I really liked the strong will and determination these twelve-year-old girls showed. The princesses are diverse, and it was a real pleasure to read about different cultures.
The narratives are always changing, and the mirror is the only thing linking the stories together. I really enjoyed the turns and little twists in each story, as well as a little bit of sweet romance.

Rolling Stone's 306th greatest album of all time (424th in the 2020 list)
Absolutely stunning album and great to have a re-listen as part of my journey through Rolling Stone's top 500 albums of all time. There is not a bad song here, and the range of styles and influences are so diverse that each song could plausibly be a different artist. From the opener of Devil's Haircut to the sublime New Pollution and the wonderful Where Its At, there is no filler at all.
