Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2460 KP) rated Woof (Bowser and Birdie #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Bowser is thrilled when Birdie and her Grammy pick him to be their new dog. The trio has just returned from the shelter when they discover that Grammy’s prize marlin is missing. The stuffed fish was only worth sentimental memories. Or was it? Rumors of a treasure map spark Bowser and Birdie’s interest. Can they solve the mystery?
Like Spencer Quinn’s series for adults, this middle grade novel is narrated by Bowser the dog. That part of the story is cute and feels right, although it can get over done, especially as the good reaches the end. The human characters are just as well drawn and lovely. Unfortunately, the plot is very uneven with a slow start and a rush to wrap things up that leaves a major plot thread unanswered.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Bare It All (Love Undercover, #2) in Books
Feb 13, 2018
OK so after the wait this book finally arrived and I wasn't disappointed. The story continues the day after Run The Risk . And centres around Alice and Reece with all the characters from the last book too and also Trace from A Trace Of Fever
Reece knows Alice is hiding a secret past and would like to get to know her a little better but she blanks him at every opportunity until Alice is drawn to Reece's dog Cash. Reece soon realises that Cash is a bit of a hand full and so asks Alice to help with the dog sitting during the day while he's at work. Alice eagerly agrees and when the bad guys turn up at Reece's apartment its Alice that helps to save the day.
A really good read and I can't wait for the next one, Getting Rowdy

Nicole Hadley (380 KP) rated Sam and Emma in Books
Jun 18, 2018
Sam and Emma by Donald Nelsen is a cute story with a simple yet direct message. The message simply is; we are different. We live different lives, live in different places, eat different foods, and look different. While we are all different, it is important to accept all the differences.
This is a story about Sam and dog and Emma the cat. Sam is is kind dog who wanted to get to know about others. Emma was proud and while she is the one who wanted to go on the adventure was unaccepting.
This is a book about accepting others for who they are. The illustrations are simple but convey the message clearly. I would love to have this book in my classroom to teach about understanding and welcoming all views and thoughts.
I received a copy of this book from Dover Publications via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

GameCritics (290 KP) rated UNCHARTED 4: A Thief's End in Video Games
Sep 21, 2017
If this really is the last we see of the Uncharted series, A Thief's End will have been a remarkable and surprisingly inventive farewell. More so than either sequel before it, Uncharted 4 builds on the formula in unexpected but natural ways
