Don't mess with the little guy
Dogman is a sweet unassuming little guy who is friendly with everyone and loves his daughter. One of his friends though is a psychopathic bully. Can Dogman, a little guy, push away this brute to keep his own life going?

Excellant and original film which has you rooting for the underdog.

"These are both movies I made out to in college and later felt had been inappropriate choices for setting a romantic mood. I will never forget watching one of two Jeremy Ironses finger his satanic gynecological equipment while a guy named Phil sort of touched my boob. Straw Dogs makes you feel really awkward about removing your leggings, so you just don’t."

On a whim and a hope, Evie signs up to learn how to train dogs, but the school she's going to is anything but a normal kennel. Maybe that's for the best, because nothing has been normal in Evie's short life so far. Dog Days is a moving, and at times very funny, book about three people: George, Dan and Lizzie. It is NOT a book about dogs - which is what I thought it would be about to some extent - but the main characters do all have dogs. And they are dogs with a purpose. All three of the main characters are going through difficult times in their lives, and their dogs are the ones who give them love, support and a reason to keep going.
George, Dan and Lizzie are all vulnerable characters: whilst Dan and Lizzie seem to suffer in silence, George is happy to let the world know how angry he is. The comedy element of the novel comes from George, but you can see the grief of the sudden loss of his wife behind his bluster and foul language.
Dan is a counsellor with OCD, which he keeps largely hidden. The only person he seems to socialise with is his cousin, Luke, who he goes running and dog walking with. And that’s his life: work, Luke, Fitz (his dog). Dan has a secret, and I think to begin with, it’s a secret even from himself.
Lizzie is another complex character. There’s a lot going on with her: she’s in a women’s refuge with her young son and won’t talk about what happened to her. She seems to be punishing herself about a mistake she believes she has made. And it’s a bit of an “Oh wow!!” moment when that reveal comes along.
This book had me laughing out loud and having a bit of a weep in equal measure. It’s an emotional book. I really, really enjoyed it, and would definitely recommend it.
Many thanks to The Pigeonhole for serialising this.

This is a intesting fact that i didnt realze until now, that James Mangold wrote the screenplay for this movie.

The plot: In this animated update of the classic "Oliver Twist" tale, Oliver (Joey Lawrence) is an orphaned kitten taken in by a gang of thieving dogs, led by cavalier canine Dodger (Billy Joel) and owned by down-and-out pickpocket Fagin (Dom DeLuise). While pulling a job in the streets of New York City, Oliver winds up being adopted by a rich girl, Jenny (Natalie Gregory), and landing on easy street. But through a series of events, a loan shark threatens the peaceful new arrangement.

This is one of the weirdest cast ever. You have Joey Lawerence, Billy Joel, Cheech Marin and Bette Midler. Such a weird cast.

Other than that, its a good movie.

This was just fun - you learn a lot about the different breeds of dogs - there's awesome pictures of them as pups to adults - they have temper/grooming/size and tidbits about how well the dog is in a family and it's super duper informative - and did I mention cute and fun? I can't wait to use it when we select a dog for our family!!

The most popular gardening writers (those who are on TV) are now under the same pressure to produce a new book for Christmas every year as the best-selling cookery writers — whether or not they have anything fresh to say.

Last year Monty Don charmed all with Nigel: My Family and other Dogs. His latest offering, Down to Earth: Gardening Wisdom is this year’s best-selling gardening book.

From Monty Don’s best-selling guide to gardening principles to peeking into the plots of the rich and famous, there’s much to enjoy:
