"Island Records put out these samplers that cost the price of a single that basically had whatever was cool: King Crimson, Nick Drake, Blodwyn Pig, Quintessence, the original Nirvana. There’s a point sometimes when an independent label will just have everything, and you follow everything they do because they have the best stuff. That’s how I learned about King Crimson. In the period before I was living in London, I saw King Crimson more than any other band, and they had the biggest effect on me. They were so serious. “21st Century Schizoid Man” is just get it out, put it on the table, and deal with that. The combination of heaviness, technical brilliance, and sheer bonkers arrangements was unbelievable. You don’t know whether to be petrified or burst out laughing."

Lilah Drake has a fairly successful business secretly creating dishes for clients to claim as their own. When one of the dishes she created for a client is used to poison someone, Lilah must find the killer before her cover is blown.

I loved the idea behind this mystery, but the execution wasn’t as good as I hoped it would be. The characters are a bit on the cartoony side early on, although they do get fleshed out as the book progresses. On the other hand, the story slows down before we get the satisfying climax. Also, the romantic sub-plot feels clumsy.

NOTE: I was sent a copy of this book in hopes I would review it.

Aisling Grey is back-and in more trouble than ever. She thought being a courier would be easy. It's not. She thought being a Guardian would come naturally. It doesn't. She thought she could get out of being a wyvern's mate. She can't. And she never thought she'd be irresistible to men. But she is.

I really really struggled with this one! I was looking forward to the witty funny and Sarcy attitude from Aisling that we had in book 1 it just wasn't there! There were a few moments with Jim I found funny I do love that demon but it still wasn't enough to keep me from putting the book down! The ending seemed quite rushed. I will give the next book a go in the hope it's a little better. Drake is really doing my head in!
