This one feels just a bit throwback at first, with the analog-sounding synth on 8th-note repeat, and the guitar reverb has that little hint of Miami Vice. But then the baritone vocal hits, and then the alto harmony, and the whole song starts feeling warm and blanket-like, with a slightly muted band sound tucked under a wooly delay-reverb.

By the end: the hook is etched into your brain, the vocals feel like the pondering sound of your own inner vision, and the drums feel underwater. This song is a simple, infectious melody, delivered with impeccably groomed vocals, and a smooth late-night catharsis.

"Now this is an important record. It’s the first American hardcore punk record with some production. It was mind-blowing at the time, like, wow – there’s fuckin’ real guitar blaring out of the right side and you could hear everything, especially Don Bolles on drums. Darby Crash’s lyrics were this different thing where you couldn’t hear one word he said but he made you read the lyrics. It was like really dark poetry that you couldn’t figure out – we were too young too figure all that shit out. As a record, when you first hear it, you can’t understand it at all. Then on the fourth listen it becomes one of the best you’ve ever heard."

"Tie: Night Chase and Dojo Fight The film is regarded as a classic but many people were skeptical when Ang Lee wanted to make this film. We really pushed ourselves on these two sequences. The Night Chase sequence not only had to have the actors flying on rooftops, but the cameramen as well. Combined with Tan Dun’s drums, the sequence is as thrilling to watch as it was to make. The Dojo Fight was a fun sequence. Ang Lee wanted a fight with “everything” so we used every weapon we could think of. Even though there are a couple comedic beats in the sequence, it really showed how powerful the Green Destiny sword was in the story."

"I have an older sister and she was into things like Bros, New Kids On The Block and Kylie Minogue, and I think she ended up buying a few Cardigans records. We used to listen to them a lot. I remember being aware that the drums sounded really different to other bands. The production was incredibly good, it was catchy pop music. One of the guys involved, Peter Svensson went on to become Hollywood and write for Ariana Grande. I think it was probably the first of a few times when I realised that you didn’t have to be into production or catchy songs, you can be into both. All of their records are very good, I think."
