WOW, I didn't see that coming!? Yet another incredible book from Aleatha and completely different from anything she has done before! I truly had no idea where this story was going and just when I think I did, she twists the story yet again... Sara wakes up remembering nothing, in a world she has no recollection of and a husband who is determined to bring her back into "The Light". So many crazy twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat, trying to figure out where the story heads next... and after that killer cliffhanger ending, I'm sure we're all DYING to get our hands on the next book!? HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended read!!

A great new addition
I'm not entirely convinced that we really need any more Dark Materials books, especially not a prequel, but this is still a very good book.

It's very well written and is an interesting tale, although it is a little bit far fetched. Malcolm is a good new character and is a bit of fresh air in comparison with Lyra as he's a lot less brash and overconfident. It's nice to see Lord Asriel potrayed in a better light than he is in the other books and there are some interesting new characters too. I felt the ending was a little abrupt and a bit of a let down, and I'm also not entirely sure that this is how I would've pictured Lyra ending up in Jordan college. Still it's an entertaining story and has left me dying to read the next one.
